Would there, or would there not be, lawsuits if they took away the blood transfusion ban?

i have heard or read, many times by many exjw's, that the org does not remove the blood transfusion ban because it would be crippled by the resulting lawsuits the minute that "new light" was made official.i am not a lawyer, but i would like to know what legal opinion lawyers have on that.on what legal basis would there be a lawsuit?

"i am suing the watchtower because my relative died because of a rule they had but no longer have"?am i missing something?.

FAThat link you posted to the David Harris article took my breath away. Terrifying. The nurse who unclamps the tube and lets the skid road dude's blood run into the trash can - until his neighbour spots what she has done....horrific!! Some wouldn't believe it, it's so frightful. I would - I'm a nurse. whilst the old saying "never attribute to malice what one can more easily attribute to incompetence" holds true, I have indeed witnessed such cruel, judgemental, sociopathic and god complex behaviour in medical staff......and it makes my blood run cold to read about it.

That aside, on the concept of selling ones blood, whilst American style medical care can be the best in the world, i will never believe that for most people, social medicine is the only humane system there is.

No.

they should....but if they could, I think it likely would have already happenend when they changed the rule on the organ transplant ban (Although admitedly affecting less people nevertheless I think we would have seen at least one lawsuit).

JE-sus making a comeback at the 2024 Convention

attended the friday sesson of the 2024 summer convention.. july 5, 2024 summer convention crowd photo; they invited quite a lot of empty chairs.. .

the facility usually has 5500-6500. they spun it saying that fewer congregations were assigned.

there were 6 of the smaller, more distant sections blocked off with tarps to lessen cleaning, which i understand.

i was thinking about the male children ( even unbaptized ) being placed ahead of the sisters.

would these kids not feel more important than their mothers let alone other women.

so as the title suggests i wrote a book why is lloyd to thank?

first let's rewind a little.

when i was a teenager i was a pretty gifted writer and was put in academic and ap classes for english/lit classes.

New instructions on not using sisters to manage KH computer ?

since covid in france, especially in the countryside with lack of brothers, it was quite common that some sisters were using the computer at the back of the kingdom hall to manage zoom session.. i heard a rumor that new instructions, maybe a july letter, stated that this was reserved for male only, even unbaptised publishers, but no sister if there is at least a male available.

that would be a steps back and disappointment for these sisters.

last week i heard at my mom’s house how they were happy that this service was available for them, a proof that the org was moving forward.

I've always thought it so bizarre that women aren't allowed to do absurdly practical and not at all spiritual things like running mics and working a sound desk, even as a witness.

I mean at least there is something in the Bible about men and women's dress codes. Of course we all know women were used as deacons and apostles (messengers) in the Bible. Phoebe and Junia (who was imprisoned for her service!). But no. Ladies we get to wear trousers. :/

this is a continuation of the discussion which sprang from an unrelated topic.. so according to genesis, who told the first lie?

god told eve that if she ate from the tree of knowledge she would die that very same day.

in response to that statement the devil told her she would not die.. eve ate from the tree and did not die.

I agree Fragrant. That is why this story in Genesis has always been very difficult for me to understand and process. You have this creature who according to our teaching is hundreds of thousands of times more powerful than we are (including brain power presumably).With the attendant wisdom that comes with being eons of years old. A creature that cheered and clapped when our grandparents were created by God and knew how relatively young and utterly innocent they were. Yet this creature chose to take advantage of that innocence and fool us to our everlasting detriment. To what end? It just makes him look the way an adult male that steals candy from a baby would look! Then the father of the baby arrives and severely punishes the baby, even though he can see the real culprit standing there with the candy - grinning from ear to ear!

In fact, as Nicolaou said, any three year old child would have more wit than Adam and Eve had!!!
The only person that comes out of this story with any credibility was EVE in my opinion....at least she acted out of complete naivety!
