The Silence of the Lambs
by Diogenesister inthe power of the institution must never again be allowed to silence a child.. so says royal commissioner peter maclellan following his time speaking to over 4,000 survivors of sexual abuse within institutions, over half of which were faith based.
we know 1,006 of those took place and were reported to the jehovahs witness organization.
thats some statistic,but my question is what do you guys think the org can or is willing to do to get over the "jehovahs good name is more important than your sufferings" attitude.

Baker misses opertunity re no part of this world
by Diogenesister inwhy did disfellowshipped ex elder baker not explain why the elders have not informed themselves about the royal commission ?
mr stewart gave him the opertunity to explain the "no part of this world" doctrine, he merely expressed surprise that they had not informed themselves as if it were a personal foible of those particular elders.
it would have been a great opertunity to express disgust at the distain and uncaring attitude the society exhibits toward its worldly neighbours, i also believe him to be out of date re superior authority doctrine ..giving creedence to the lie the jw's are good and productive members of society.

Never give up on those stuck in the org
by Diogenesister inhi, i know posting links here is not always popular and appologies if you've seen this but i heartily recommend reading this fantastic bio.
i guess what you'll take from it is to never give up on anyone stuck in a cult and also an examle of real unconditional love in this case 33 years of rejection, patiently waiting until their daughter needed them.

For those who gave their lives
by Diogenesister insorry if this is a bit of a bummer, folks, but i am feeling really down about this and had to post.
i took my life in my hands and checked out jw.org, initially to find out what the go was regarding the sarah as satan posts and the patronus spell lion ( although i was nearly crying with laughter when i real that all along the watchtower (spiritualist harry potter reading) flash of writing department madness, well the posts about it anyway.. anyway what made me feel so bad was something about being good to full time long term service people..in the caleb and sophia section for gods sake!
it was this sad picture of two elderly publishers ( god what a word!

Exodus- Ridley Scott film
by Diogenesister inhi all, any thoughts on the ridley scott film exodus :gods and kings my people?
generally, its more or less as i would envision it.. love the representation of gods spirit/angel as a child of ?10 - great age, they have not lost their innocence but are aware of the dark side of life, question everything are bitingly honest in their assesments and you can often have surprisingly adult conversations with them.
of course in all this they are often very very funny(i may be biased as my kids are this age!!!).
