Hi all, Jookbeard said in a recent thread of a sister saying she hadn't seen him for a while to which he replied "that's because I haven't been here." I have to attend a few meetings as I will visit my parents who don't know I am fading. Also the memorial and assemblies I still have to attend for a while for the wife's sake. So along those lines, what will dubs say to me, and how can I, in the spirit of jookbeard, give a good reply? What's the best thing you've ever said to a dub?

There's A Ghost At My Place Of Employment
by finallysomepride inok some of you will laugh at this, but it's true, there is a spirit that haunts the premises where i work.. it has spoken to me once when i was locking up, it was 1 single word "hello", i looked around and saw nothing, i ignored it, set the alarm locked the door & went home.
other times i have felt something brush passed me as i have entered the building early in the morning.
the experience that got to me most happened the other nite when i was called back to the store by security, as i pulled into the drive way there was a man standing at the rear of the building, in the split second of looking away he dissapeared, there's no way that he could have run off the property in that split second.. what do you think?.

Sometimes our mind interprets things... Like it may have been a normal noise that you interpreted as a voice. Many children 'see' things in the shadows but they are just shadows. Lack of a direct explanation doesn't mean it is ghosts. I personally don't believe in ghosts anymore than any other imaginary being like a fairy, unicorn or, as an atheist, God.

Wantstoleave - Yes I could probably do that, I would need to save up some cash first but that's a good goal. Penny2 - No, I don't go to the meetings. Its a god idea to use that time learning. I do try to learn whenever I can in my time. AlexHall - Yep, great idea and something I try to do. I am trying to learn a language now. OnTheWayOut - I'm already married and I wouldn't marry only for riches anyway. Baby steps... Yes, I need to be more patient I guess.

'Get an education' etc. Well, I'd love to, excet I am in a dead end job with no satisfaction because I don't have further education. It also means I don't have money to go to college/university even if I didn't have a wife and baby to support. It is my biggest regret in life. I love learning. So, what can I do? Am I stuck in a dead end job the rest of my life - which I hope will be at least 50 more years - because of the WTBS? I try to be content with my job but this just eats away at me every day. I am also not in a country like the US where college might be easier to go to. King Agag

Wantstoleave, I can't be sure of all the details but basically we know how fast light travels. We measure the distance of an object from Earth (don't as me how) and then we can work out how long it would take light to travel that distance.. Voila!

Thanks for the comments, I'd love to hear more. Thanks also for the comments about my new name. I love it. I use it because Agag was King of the Amalekites who in the bible got wiped out down to every man woman and child only to reappear later and be wiped out again and then miraculously reappear again. I feel that whatever JWs, elders or the WTA throw at me, I will get through it. It also reminds me of a few good reasons I gave up belief in God. If anyone wants to discuss this, pkease start another thread. I'd like to keep this one about assembly techniques. I have an iPod... With the God Delusion audiobook... But it may be a bit too obvious to use it!

Unfortunately staying home isn't an option this time! I'm working on that, as I said. And baby pee-ing on me is a good idea but I bet they'd change the baby and leave me to reek. Being as there are others travelling with us, I'd be stuck! Might do it anyway to distract them from the talks..

Hi all, I told my wife some time back that I would fade, and I compronised that I'd still attend the memorials and assemblies (at least for now). November 1st is the 'special' assembly day. She said she doesn't care if I listen or not, it is more to help her with the baby. (Stopping the baby going is a project I am working on). So... Hours of boredom coming up. I plan to take my notebook and work on a novel I am writing inbetween going outside with the baby as much as I can. What other things can I do that aren't blatantly disrespectful to keep me entertained? What do you do to avoid brain atrophy?! On another note, I used to be known as GapingMouth but wanted this new nickname and a different email address associated with it. Seeing nowhere to change my details, I started a new account.
