Hi all, I told my wife some time back that I would fade, and I compronised that I'd still attend the memorials and assemblies (at least for now). November 1st is the 'special' assembly day. She said she doesn't care if I listen or not, it is more to help her with the baby. (Stopping the baby going is a project I am working on). So... Hours of boredom coming up. I plan to take my notebook and work on a novel I am writing inbetween going outside with the baby as much as I can. What other things can I do that aren't blatantly disrespectful to keep me entertained? What do you do to avoid brain atrophy?! On another note, I used to be known as GapingMouth but wanted this new nickname and a different email address associated with it. Seeing nowhere to change my details, I started a new account. How do I get the old one removed? King Agag PS My posts seem to lose all formatting on my BlackBerry so sorry if its a mess.

Do some Mad Libs... it'll look like you're taking notes.

stay at home and look after the baby, your wife can enjoy the service without any distractions.

Let the baby wee all over you so you have to go home early.

cantleave is dead on with his advice. No one will want you there anyway if you smell like pee.

I used to write things in Elvish to pass the time. Srsly.
Or I "went exploring" in the 1984 Reference Bible. If you're looking at the Bible, I figured they wouldn't think anything amiss. Fun game: read Jude and 2 Peter side by side and underline each sentence that matches the other. Maybe not "fun" fun, but more interesting than whatever drivel is pouring out from the stage.

Unfortunately staying home isn't an option this time! I'm working on that, as I said. And baby pee-ing on me is a good idea but I bet they'd change the baby and leave me to reek. Being as there are others travelling with us, I'd be stuck! Might do it anyway to distract them from the talks..

Greetings!
Do you have an iPod or similar?
Obviously white earphones are a bit obvious but some more discrete ones could help you through the hours.
Even better, you won't have to listen to what they have to say :)
BTW I was wondering how you chose your user name?!
All the best,
Stephen

I just used to sit there reading the Bible. I read it through once a year and used to use assemblies as a marathon reading session so that I could then have a couple of weeks off to spend more time reading other things.
I sometimes used to help with other people's children too. This allowed me to draw pictures for them (well, for relieving my boredom really) or take them for a walk around the grounds.
I like the new name by the way.

Thanks for the comments, I'd love to hear more. Thanks also for the comments about my new name. I love it. I use it because Agag was King of the Amalekites who in the bible got wiped out down to every man woman and child only to reappear later and be wiped out again and then miraculously reappear again. I feel that whatever JWs, elders or the WTA throw at me, I will get through it. It also reminds me of a few good reasons I gave up belief in God. If anyone wants to discuss this, pkease start another thread. I'd like to keep this one about assembly techniques. I have an iPod... With the God Delusion audiobook... But it may be a bit too obvious to use it!
