  if so, is it destructive?.

  there were several jws in my area that were very successful mary kay cosmetics dealers.

  Well, I told my mom today that I haven't been to a meeting in 5 months plus I need some advise for next Saturday

  me and my mom made plans to see each other today so this morning she called me and said she was already in my area and wanted to know where to meet up.

  i told her that i wasn't ready yet so to come to my apartment first.

  i said that me and my husband are still in our pjs and she gasped and ask, "you didn't go to the meeting today?

  I feel a little better now.

  Okay, so, knowing my mom, she probably didn't explain my question to him correctly. He's probably preparing to come over here just to explain the whole seven times deal. I'm thinking of just calling him to tell him what the real question is. Simply that I want to know what source the society uses to support 607 and leave it at that and tell him when he finds it to let me know. That way he doesn't have to come over here at all. I know that if he does he'll start asking me other questions that I don't want to answer.

  FreudianSlip, "Then drop it and enjoy the visit as uncle and niece." I don't see that happening. We're not that close. He's coming over to re-indoctrinate me and that's it. And since I'm sure my mom told him I haven't been to the meetings in 5 months, he'll probably be suspicious that something else is going on. I wouldn't be surprised if he asked me if I've been reading apostate material.

  So it seems a lot of you guys think I shouldn't meet with my uncle unless I want to be Df'd. Like I said before, I was pretty much cornered by mom into meeting with him. So how can I not meet with him now? He's not some elder at my new congregation that I haven't attended. I can't just not be at home. He's my uncle. Even if I have a good reason to cancel he and my mom will pressure me to meet with him again. I don't think I really have a choice.

  although she has posted once here herself (ange 2.0), i would like to introduce everyone to my sister ange.

  up until a week ago, i had not spoken to her for 5+ years after i da'd.

  we are both 3rd generation with hard core parents (just hard core attitudes, not hard core jw activity).

  cyberjesus, I'm only doing this because my mom cornered me and asked me to. That's it. No other reason. I just want her to think that I'm humble enough to allow someone to talk to me about this that way she can't accuse me of being haughty like my MIL did.

  garyneal, I like your reasoning. And I already know what the Insight book says. It doesn't actually prove anything. It uses words like 'probably' and 'more than likely.'

  jamiebowers and FreudianSlip, Yes, that is a good point. However, I haven't actually said that I don't believe. I only said I was having doubts. I plan on using Billy's approach to ask questions and let him do the talking. I'll never admit to anything. And I'm only going through all the charades for my mom but I'll never show up for a JC. Keeping my mom from disowning me isn't worth that. Maybe that's the wrong attitude, especially after already losing one parent, but that's just how I feel. There's only so much I can do. My mom has to live with whatever decision she makes.
