I spoke to Ray Franz for the first time today
by recovering ini have been feeling very blue and hopeless lately.
i miss my family and needed some affirmation that i am right in my characterization of the jws.
i called ray to hear it from the someone in the know, as to what really goes on in the gb meetings and if they really believe what they say.

Hmmmm,
I have a friend who is far away from his JW family, was also abused as a child, he is “fading” (good for him) and lives in the north east.
Im never going to forget that morning when I got a phone call that he tried to do you know what . He is doing OK emotionally, still struggling with the feelings, but he keeping himself busy, going to the gym, seeing other people, doing a little traveling, etc.

The Road Less Travelled or Releasing The Bond?
I already read Crisis OC, almost done with In Search of CF. And of course, I’m still reading other bible translations.
I’m taking a long break for the Thanksgiving holyday week and would like to use that leisure time to read a good book. ( I know, I know…I should be out in service).

recovering,
You sound a lot like a friend of mine (specially your negative experience). Do you live in the northeast by any chance?

2pink,
I think it depends on the field that you want to get your education. There are some goods 2 year programs in accounting/finance that could help you get a good job. Many companies have tuition reimbursement programs that will pay for your school, so if you want a 4 year degree, I recommend you get a 2 year equivalent, like an associate degree on that field, get the experience, find a job that will help you then pay for the rest of the degree. Also, computer networking is a growing field that’s in demand and of course the health care field (specially if the universal insurance coverage passes through the senate).
My 2 cents

OM ,
A couple of days after the DC, she expressed to me that she is feeling comfortable with the idea that she’ll die of old age in this “system”, that at times she doesn’t believe that the “end” will come in her lifetime, that she feels that we are living in the “last days” but not that she will see Armageddon. She is an intelligent person, but has not taken the time to analyze the importance that the “this generation” teaching plays in WT's doctrines. She has not fully accepted the fact that the GB is not guided by the HS or that they can be wrong. But this weekend I felt (or at least have the hope) that she’ll get it, that its only a matter of time (how long, I don’t know) I just need to take it easy (as you and others have advised).
