i have heard that i can write a letter to the boe and say that i oppose her getting baptized before she is 18. is that true?
Splash, I agree with you that they will likely baptize her anyway. Figured it's worth a shot if it is something they are "supposed" to abide by. As Out4good3 says she doesn't know the pain she's setting herself up for and I am TRYING to push it off until she's at least legal age. I work for a lawyer so won't be too hard to get someone to allow me to send it on letterhead.

I have heard that I can write a letter to the BOE and say that I oppose her getting baptized before she is 18. Is that true? Does it work? If so, any specific wording that must be used?

evidently (and i'm paraphrasing), anyone anointed after franz's death in 1992 is not of the 'generation'.. 5th.

I just got back from mine. I walked in during the reading of paragraph 13. Perfect timing, IMO. lol.
The conductor was already OLD when I was a child so he must be about 90 now. When they asked "who make up "this generation" meantioned by Jesus?" they let a child answer quoting directly from the paragraph. The conductor commented after the child and said "overlap, did you get that? I like that word. So there were some on hand but they're all gone now and the generation has passed so NOW our understanding is that it will overlap with some younger ones." I had to start coughing again there, this time to cover my laughter. I wasn't sure if the conductor was buying it or subtly trying to get people to think. Then he said I see more hands but we need to move on and started to cover the Are You Keeping Up box. I waited until after paragraph 15's comments just to see if anyone would go back to the new light, but no one did. All in all I was there for 11 minutes.

I'm df'd and planning to go. Not to my former hall though, their meeting is too early. I'm going in after the talk and would love to participate in the "collective cough of incredulity" lol. I'm leaving after those paragraphs though. I can't stand too much of the meeting.
does anybody know where talks have been posted for this convention yet?

I have a 7 min clip of a DC talk. The "Remain in the Secret Place of the Most High" where they explain the generation change. I tried to post it earlier this week but I didn't get much response. I'm not sure how to upload it, so if you can point me to a site, I'd be happy to do it.

Right now "my" JWs are arguing this is not NEW this is what the generation teaching has ALWAYS been. But I have an audio clip here from the DC where the speaker SAYS bascially "we got new refinement". So they are passing it off as new light. Maybe they are hoping it's a blinding stobe light? lol.
