worst privelege ever?
by rockmehardplace incollecting money after every meeting.
i could never get someone to help, and i was always last to leave.
when i did finally have one person who would help, if i used them too often i got questions about why the two of us were always taking the contributions.

Outsider question: I suspect women's priveledges are worse then men's?
Some how I don't see JW bros scrapping pubic hairs off toilet seats .

If you have no family in the Cult, how about a simple stay the f*** off my lawn old man, your presence is withering my begonias?
I understand the horny thing, but you need to broaden your horizons. How about a Southern Baptist with a trick pelvis ? Or a Catholic that still has her school uniform? I'm just saying.

So your telling me you can be an a**hole until you get bapitized, and other tales...
by Confuzzled inwithout launching into my saga, of which many of you already know, i have a jw baby daddy who besides being a jw is an emotional midget w/women issues....i continue to come here for support and info concerning the future of my infant and the quirks of the jw family & belief system at large, and what i will be dealing with in the future, bf or no bf, so this inquiry has nothing to do with my relationship with this person or lack-there-of, i'm just seeking answers to what seems puzzling.
my posts are lacking in any specific detail as to not alert any possible lurking done my boyfriend or his family members, call me paranoid but it sometimes the circumstances, should they be stumbled on, are far to unique for it to be anybody other then this person, or their family.. anyhoo, my non-baptized jw bf is mad at his mother, along with many of his brothers and sisters (he has a huge family).
mama, it turns out was never baptized, even though she has been a jw for as long as my boyfriend has been alive (almost 40 yrs).

My own family was just dysfunctional. This family is lovingly dysfuntional. DGP had a point though, it can get nightmarish sometimes. Its like a cult itself, and the whole JW aspect just intensifies everything. Not only are we nuts and overly involved in each others lives, but we're cult members, too! A cult within a cult, lol. Not everybody is a JW, but the ones that are, or at least have a belief system based on it whip it out when they need too. I had a similar family. My mothers family was enormous (I always say him and I have families that rival the Duggars, I'm avoiding giving numbers, here), but my own family imploded, and I think I craved the nuttiness, but as an outsider I'm glad I'm not in the line of fire, exactly.
I'm going to have my large post-baby frozen margarita this summer, and sit back and watch. Maybe nobody will notice when I light the grill using Watchtowers as they try to convince that nephew he drinks to much, or that cousin their boyfriend is a crackhead. Pass the marshmallows!

@hemp Lover
Short version: You want something to work out for you. You want that job. You whole heartedly put faith in the fact you are going to get that job, and don't allow any negative thoughts to get in the way of it.
BUT.....You have to do a lot of inner work. You can't be miserable one minute, and expect things to work out the next. My world tumbled down this summer and I lost the grip I used to have on it. It's incredibly hard. You would not believe how negative you actually are until you start monitering your thoughts, and sometimes you just don't feel like being grateful for every crust of bread.
How have I've seen it work? I got that job, we bought that house for zero down, I left that relationship I was sure I'd be stuck in for the rest of my life, he gave me that car......and countless, trivial things that sound more like "The Secret" then LOA: Miley Cyrus tickets for my kid that came out of no where, those boots I wanted for years that I could never afford, but low and behold they were $50 bucks at a random store, Disney World which I never in a billion yrs thought I could afford ect., ect. ect. Thats the stuff I don't normally talk about. I'm thankful for it all, but it sounds straight oout of the "The Secret".
I also got something I didn't know I would regret. Be careful what you wish for. I watched him for years. We connected on a level most people couldn't understand. I knew I would eventually be with him. I was forewarned, the writing was on the wall, but I let it happen. Now I'm pregnant with his child, and a more complicated man I don't think I'll ever find.

It's so scary when things I am told read back verbatim on this board or other websites. It's a script. "Keeping the congregation clean". I heard that a few days ago.
Ever seen the movie "The Chronicles of Riddick"? I feel like I'm watching that movie play out sometimes.

*POKES HEAD IN THREAD*
"The Secret" is the Walmart version of LOA. There is a lot of inner work that goes in to it that Rhonda doesn't even touch on. I'm a (half-assed) practioner of LOA and I don't like to discuss it. I will say, I have seen it work countless times. When I first started reading on it, it sounded like a load of BS to me, but WTF, positive thinking won't hurt me. But to my shock, it actually works, but it takes work. But much like politics, its better to not say anything or get involved in any discussion about it, unless somebody expresses an interest first, sees a book on my nightstand and asks about it, ect. Oh, and I personally hate debating it or anything else (oddly, I don't have a prob debating any point on the Cult, only because I'm trying to save someone's soul and sanity, and protect my baby). But I will tell "The Secret" is a good opener for learning about it. If anyone is interested there are far more authors that are more informed then ol' Rhonda, and she bulldozed quite a few of them to put "The Secret" out. Some LOA, or "New Thought" authors that are far better to read from are: Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, Prentice Mulford, and Esther & Jerry Hicks.

I can't say Ma doesn't deserve "tough love" from her own family. I don't however think that it's anybody from the Borg's business to be involved. It's causing her husband more heartache then anything else. The Bible is more then clear about gossip, and "marking" just seems like sanctioned gossip.
