Rutherford Exposed: The Story of Berta and Bonnie.
Farkel was the best! He and Leolaia own the history of the WT.
once upon a time i started a thread who is your favorite thinker and got many responses.
however revisiting that thread i noted we were to modest to name ourselves or fellow posters.
i therefore think we are either complete idiots, or modesty aside we should now name names, and restrict our answers to posters on the board.. so who on this board is your favorite thinker and why?.
Farkel was the best! He and Leolaia own the history of the WT.
i'm wondering why believers remain members of this forum which is clearly hostile to believers.
as one member said, nonbelievers pounce on any semblance of belief like piranhas on prey.
as former jws we should have had our fill of judgmental know-it-alls, but here we are.
I arrived 7 years ago and the information here is wonderful. I check the "best of" section quite a bit, I am a fan of a few posters and have read most of Terry's and Leo's posts. I am a social christian and total agnostic.
The search function is really great. Any subject at your fingertips. I confess Simon threw me for a loop when the forums went to .com. It is coming together finally... This forum helps me broach subjects to the JW relatives I see occasionally.
a friend of mine is suffering from harrassment and it is affecting work, home and even marriage life.
i, for one will not stand for something like this and feel this friend's pain.
it is a frightening thing to happen to someone.
While I havent had this issue the information is so important! Thought it deserved a bump to the top.
i've been using the forum to vent and post a lot more frequently lately as a venting purpose & way to obtain peace of mind with the craziness i've been going through recently as i fade away form the org.
anyways today i'm sitting here at work and thinking to myself about demons... ok i know this sounds crazy but has anyone else out there been traumatized by the thought of demons?
i had a dream the other night, just flat out spooky and i woke and couldn't help but feeling it may have been evil ole' satan and his demons at it again.. i don't want to believe that, (trying not to, & just brushing it under the rug so to speak) but have any of you out there been talked up about demons?
"How many Bible accounts , in either the Old testament or new testament are their about people with a mental disease , .I would suggest very few. What are your thoughts.?"
I asked my aunt about Isaiah walking 3 years naked in Isaiah 3 and she claimed it wasn't in the bible. I maintain he was mentally ill but what do I know?
the religoios lessons themselfs are not missed, they were actually quite dull, and i realize i learnt nothing of value from them.
instead a quite evening at home playing with my boy is more endearing.. yes my life has moved on, i occassionaly see members of my former congregation in shopping centers, or they are putting the kids in to the back of the car and inside i believe most of them have bottled it, they prefer the comfort to the " truth" who am i to expose the can of worms.. many of course can blame parents or grandparents for having grown up as outcasts in school and i hope if they do leave like me they hold no resentment.
indoctrination is a terrible thing, and even false prophecy, royal commissions, and proof that many of the elders in the congregation are complete and utter shits won't change them.
i know i've started similar topics before but this time i'm serious.
my parents have been constantly pressuring me and after yesterday's watchtower study they asked me if i was going to be baptized this summer... and i said yes.
i probably should have thought about it more before making a final decision, but they're pretty much forcing me to do it anyway.
since you have taken so much time in answering questions and commenting, i ask one more question:.
could you elaborate on who wrote certain books and brochures etc.?
i know you have written about articles you have contributed to, and also that coc lists the authors of some of the books, but do you remember at least some authors of some books / brochures / special articles?.
jd souther ... is most widely known for his part in writing somber, elegiac songs that the eagles and linda ronstadt made famous, such as "new kid in town," heartache tonight," and "faithless love.
" the new yorker, february 13 & 20, 2012, troubadour, page 36.. .
"i've never made a record in new york, start to finish," he went on.
after all that we had drummed into us about not the cross, and particularly about not venerating the symbol itself, i have been wondering about this issue.. so, what are your views about wearing a cross around your neck ?
is it just a fashion accessory, or does it mean something to you ?.
inquiring minds would like to know
I have a couple of crosses, wear it at most a few times a year. My husband got them for me.
looks like someone on this forum hates this word hope.
hope is a great thing to have for all christain.. it is one of the best things a true christain can have.. the bible gives us alot of hope.. lets use it in our everyday lives.
we have bible understanding threw research do we not?
