The one I drive right now ('68 VW Bug, Kermit):
Also loved my very first car ('88 Jeep Wrangler) and my motorcycle ('94 Honda Magna 750). Everything else I've ever driven has been meh or just downright awful.
they say the average person will own about 25 cars in their life time.. from 1982 to 1988 i owned a 1971 dodge challenger convertible.
it had a 340 with a 4 speed stick.
i loved that car.. i didnt cry when my wife left me....i did cry when that car drove out of my life!.

i just got over a bad sinus infection.
both of my inner ears are filled with fluid as a result.
i simply cannot get them to drain.
I've used hydrogen peroxide before (someone told me to try it and I was afraid to because it just sounded like a bad idea...but finally did try it and relief was immediate!)
You lie on your side and pour about a capful of it into your ear. You hear this hissing/fizzing/popping/crackling sound in your ear and it's kinda freaky. No pain or anything. Just freaky noise. You lay there for a few minutes until the crackling sound starts to subside, and then you stand up and tilt your head and let the ear drain out into a tissue or something.
Sounds gross, but I had this ear infection or something a few months ago, and there were sharp pains in my ears from buildup or something, and after doing the hydrogen peroxide, no pain. Gone. Immediately. So maybe it'd work for your situation, too?
memorial is here, and it is the perfect time for me to make my big announcement.
i want this community to be the first to know.. i have finished writing my novel!
angels and women is the story of judge rutherford and the early history of the watchtower.
That's awesome! It's such an arduous process and congratulations are in order!
i like old school disney, because they put so much time and effort into there work unlike today.. .

I also miss their older (darker) live-action films...i.e., Darby O'Gill and the Little People (that fucking banshee STILL terrifies me to this day!) and Something Wicked This Way Comes. So much of their stuff is just way too bland, sanitized and saccharine now.

Thank you all again, so much!
@Luna: "Going on a book tour" feels so weird and surreal, but I'm also really excited about maybe getting to see places I've never seen, so that's cool

Thank you! Oh, and I forgot to add, but before a lot of people were asking if it was going to be available for e-readers and when. It is, and is available for pre-order on the Kindle at Amazon.

Hi, guys I promised I'd update when I knew more about the book tour, so here you go:
http://girlsguidetohomelessness.com/upcoming-events/
Book launch is in just under two weeks and there's the tour dates/locations so far. What you see there is mostly radio, which just started booking. It's still being updated every day. There are also a couple of book signings/readings/Q&A sessions in there, but not too many yet. The readings and TV interviews will probably be scheduled right at the very end, since they tend to make the decision so last-second.
So far the book has been reviewed by Publishers Weekly (the main trade paper), which said great things about it:

And two days ago I got my very first newspaper review, which was super kind and humbling to read, and I'm pretty sure she's being far too nice and I don't deserve that many sweet things said about me Oh, well, what am I saying? I'll take it.
http://www.gainesvilletimes.com/section/86/article/48755/
And there are a couple other reviews I know of slated to be published soon (Orange County Register and ELLE Magazine). So yeah, anyway, there ya go :) I'm really hoping it helps get more coverage on JWs out there, along with homelessness. The JW upbringing and mentality is a running theme throughout the entire story, since it sort of touched all aspects of my life.
Right now I'm scheduled to physically visit San Francisco and New Orleans, but I know they'll be trying to send me to most of the major cities in the U.S. (i.e., Los Angeles, Chicago, NYC, Phoenix, Seattle, etc.) and probably a few in Canada, as well. If I end up doing a signing or a reading in a city near you, I'd love to meet some of my fellow JWN-ers.
stevens asks colleen goodwin if she thinks that there is another fork in the road where she is not divorced?.
she says no - and he insists she is just plain wrong.. did anybody notice a wedding ring as she reads her email from sean fentner?
i am sure i caught a glimpse of one.. i need to see it again as i am sure that each time stevens returns, the scene behind goodwin is slightly changed.. (things are the same -but different as stevens says to christina).
I just saw it the other day and I didn't notice that! It's definitely one of those movies (like Inception) that I want to see again to catch what I missed, so I'll pay attention to that at the end.
It was the first movie in a long time that I didn't figure out the ending to (I actually predicted a couple different possible endings, and they were all incorrect, so I figure that means the filmmakers did something right )
so, yesterday (saturday) i was working on homework while pyramidscheme and his son were outside in the garage.
i hear the doorbell ring, at noon, and go to answer it.
it's a car group!
Ugh. The "out of the mouths of babes" comment would have rankled me the worst. The kid's just parroting things she hears at home and in the congregation, and hasn't been taught manners or respect. But the idiom "out of the mouths of babes" is commonly used to refer to a kid coming out with something unexpectedly wise beyond their years (or, with the JW's especially, a child bringing "praise to god" by something they said).
The mother's comment was a tacit acknowlegement that "I'm holding my hand over my daughter's mouth and *pretending* to be embarrassed by her lack of tact, but really I know what she said is absolutely true and you do, too." That is some passive-aggressive fucking bullshite right there.
