Right, I mean, if it's true it'll just backfire on them of course. I can't see it happening, but the Society seems to get weirder and more counterintuitive every day, so who knows? I'll wait on the photos/video and let you guys know...

Does anybody in London know anything about this???
by brizzzy ini'm a californian, but a good friend in london just texted me saying there's a blitz of about 50 jehovah's witnesses in croydon right outside of where she's eating loaded up with watchtowers and setting up a stall and a speaker with a megaphone.
she also says that some of them are women in wheelchairs and that they're rolling in front of passers by and blocking them when they try to ignore them.
she says all of the pedestrians are telling them to fuck off and leave them alone because they're not interested in a cult, haha.. is this something new that the society is encouraging over there (or even more scary, everywhere?

Was looking around to see if anybody had posted similar stories and found this from two months ago:

Ha! And you thought it was satire...

I'm a Californian, but a good friend in London just texted me saying there's a blitz of about 50 Jehovah's Witnesses in Croydon right outside of where she's eating loaded up with Watchtowers and setting up a stall and a speaker with a megaphone. She also says that some of them are women in wheelchairs and that they're rolling in front of passers by and blocking them when they try to ignore them. She says all of the pedestrians are telling them to fuck off and leave them alone because they're not interested in a cult, haha.
Is this something new that the Society is encouraging over there (or even more scary, everywhere?) Are they returning to the Russell/Rutherford tactics of blaring their message at innocent bystanders over loudspeakers? I thought perhaps she was mistaken and they were some other random fringe cult, but she's insisting that they're handing out Watchtowers. She says she's going to get photos and video for me, so I'll post them later.
I'm just weirded out because this is something I've NEVER seen done by any of the congregations here in California.

Do you have a Jezebel photo?
by feenx inalright, so i am sharing some fun tidbits with my fiance about things i remember as a kid growing up.
we were trying to remember the woman from the old testament who murdered a king (she went to a christian school so we both got hammered with the bible) and we couldn't.
inevitably when you're talking about any women from the old testament jezebel comes up.

Yeah, I could've sworn the goblet and the blood from the mouth was the harlot on the back of the beast in the Revelation book.

Free anti-Watchtower/Cult books for cost of shipping
by Dogpatch ini have a dear old friend in ardmore, pa who needs to dispose of about 8 boxes of boooks about the witnesses, mostly from a christian standpoint, like authors david reed, ed gruss, ray franz, etc.. she is 74 years old and moving into a retirement home, so asks that if she packs them up, she will ship them just for the cost of printing.
i don't think any are printed by the watchtower though, so it would help mostly a new ministry.. all i have is an address so if you are interested, email me at [email protected].

Ex-Jehovah's Witness Survey...
by Tuesday inhey everyone.
another idea came to me tonight while discussing the pew forum survey about how only 37% of jehovah's witnesses remain in the religion from childhood.
the recent watchtower article where it says the majority of people who leave the religion do so in order to commit sin was brought up predictably.

The worldwide unity of Jehovah's Witness
by paul from cleveland ineverything i read on this website and elsewhere indicates that the witness are extremely united in doctrine and practices worldwide.
when i'm reading comments here, i have no idea whether the person is posting from the us or some other part of the world (unless they say so).
everyone's experience seems to be the same wherever they live.

I've heard from fellow JWs that in Hawaii, JW men don't wear suits and ties out in service because nobody in Hawaii does, not even businessmen or lawyers... so they wear Hawaiian shirts like everybody else, because men in suits are looked on with suspicion. Not sure how true that is, but there's one for you.
