Speaking of bathrooms at the DC
by TweetieBird inreading mulan's thread about her daughter-in-law's experience in the bathroom, i couldn't help remembering what happened at one district convention in jacksonville.. a sister brought her little 2 year old son in to spank.
she whipped him for so long with a thick comb and everytime the little boy would cry she would spank him some more because he was crying.
i went back to my seat crying.

We were in book study and for some reason the conductor had us all pull our chairs in a circle. (It was a really small group that night)
At some point the conductor's wife had given their 3 year old daughter a doll to play with. About half way through the meeting the daughter starts pretending to scold the doll, wagging her finger in its face etc. She then turns the doll over in lap, pulls its dress up and starts beating the daylights out of it. Mom can't get her to stop, she and dad are turning beat red, and the rest of us are trying not to laugh out loud. I think mom finally took her the back room or something.

What Will Occur In 2012 When Mayan Calender Ends?
by Big Jim inwhat will occur in 2012 when the mayan calendar ends?
when people say the mayan calendar ends in 2012, they're referring to the end of one 5125-year cycle that began in 3114 b.c.
this cycle ends on december 21, 2012 (although some peg the date as the 22nd), marking the end of the mayan cyclical calendar.

But most likely he is right. Nothing will happen because the Mayan calendar runs out. In fact it is not going to run out, just start the next cycle.
Good answers Hojon.

Wondering whether or not to join the Air Force
by Patrick_Ryan ini'm new here and i have some questions about joining the air force or not.
i'm 21 years old, i was raised as a jehovah's witness but stopped going when i was 13 because i was a kid and thought it was boring (like school).
even after i quit going i still done things that were right or i tried to still live by what i was taught and i'm greatful that i was raised that way because it kept me out of a lot of trouble and made me who i am today.

First don't listen to the nonsense about the end is coming soon. They've been saying that for over one hundred years. The Biblical "sign" they use is a misinterpretation of scripture.
One of my wife's relatives joined the Air Force a couple of years ago. He and his wife are now on Okinawa and have never been happier. He may make a career of it, but if he doesn't he's gotten a ton of free training to be a jet engine mechanic. Most military jobs are very technical and provide excellent on the job training, plus you get money for college etc.
I know this is a new thought to you but serving your country is a good and honorable job, and it is taken much to lightly these days.

Part II of Survey! Please Respond Again.Thank's.
by Big Jim inthe first survey i asked how you were brought into the non-truth.
my next survey is along the same line, however what i would like to find out is on the average how many hours you spent in the field service and were you ever able to bring anyone into the non-truth via field service or via incidental witnessing.. and how long you were associated with the borg?.
thank you in advance for your input.

In 1973. Out 1988 (in reality, although our letter was dated early 1989.)
First couple of years pretty high hours, aux pioneered several times etc. After about 1979 dropped off to 6-10 a month. Last of couple of years was very irregular.
Neither one of us pulled anybody else in.

Damn! Jesus had a BEARD! What do we do now?
by JanH inquestions from readers (w68 5/12 p. 86-8).
* when jesus christ was a man on earth, did he wear a beard?-k.a., u.s.a.. biblical evidence is the most reliable testimony to be found on this question, and a recent careful review of what it says indicates that jesus did indeed have a beard.. jesus, born a jew, "came to be under law" and he fulfilled the law.

We went camping for a few days during the summer of 1988 when we were doing our research. I grew my beard out while we were gone. Upon return we bumped into a couple of elders in the grocery store. Boy did I get some funny looks.
The beard has been there ever since. I'm an accountant and nobody in the business world gives a damn that I have it.

Should I Do It ??? I Think I Will.
by Big Jim ini have been working on my letter to our local congregation to dis-associate myself.. since my wife is still very active in the non-truth and she also insist that i write this letter, i believe i will take her congregation address and telephone list and send my letter with all the facts about the wbts history of lies and send everyone in the congregation my letter via certified mail.
.
it would probally set me back a few hundred bucks but i think it would be well worth it, what do you think??

When we DA'd ourselves in 1989 we almost sent our letter to everybody we knew. We then decided it would embarass my wife's family so we just sent it to the local congregation, the society, and a few family members so they would know the truth behind what we did.
Every situation is different, you will have to make your own decision, as you are the one who will have to live with the consequences.
If you (or anybody else)wants a copy of our letter, e-mail me. I have it in microsoft word and can send you a copy.

In 1988 my two oldest children were in middle school and doing well. I had already discussed college funds with my (nondub) parents. I realized that I could not, in good conscience tell my children they should plan on washing windows for a living. I knew enough to know that the WT had been saying that the end was near for a long time. We started doing research on the organization, and were free a year later.
I wonder how many young (and now not so young)lives have been destroyed by this stupidity.

Please Respond To Survey! 25 more needed please.
by Big Jim init seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?
for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .
thanks.

My college roomate, his mother was a dub, dad wasn't which is why he was at school. He started an "informal" study with me.
My wife was dragged in by her grandparents, who are a couple of the very few I know that got pulled in by door to door work.
