no God (capital G)
god (small g) several referred to as that Psalm 82:6
Which ignores the fact that there are no capital letters in Hebrew. Have they ever addressed that?
"you are my witnesses says jehovah".. this is going to show you how poor my knowledge of the bible has been.. i thought there was a scripture that says the quoted phrase (at least in nwt).
i could swear that i heard it for years quoted in talks.. i went to find it this morning and found nothing of the sort.
am i an anomaly or do any of you remember this as well?.

so i called in to my local walgreens pharmacy to get my blood pressure medicine refilled.
i go to the pharmacy to pick it up and they tell me that the doctor has denied filling it saying to them, "prescription refill not appropriate".
i asked them what that means and they say you'll have to contact your doctor on that, sorry.
I've said this before, but this is a good place to say it again: I'm an alcoholic. I haven't had a drink since August 29, 2005. Best 11 years of my life. I now work in a 28 day recovery center. I may be able to help find counselors/programs etc wherever you live. PM me if you want. Alcoholism is a disease, not a moral failure. It is quite capable of killing you, which is why your doctor wants you to come in and get your tests done. It is probable that if you go there and tell him the truth, you won't say anything he doesn't already know. I went in for a physical after I got sober, one of the docs first questions was "how much did you really drink?" When I told him he said "I knew you were lying to me."
Get some help and good luck to you.
hello.. i am a young 18 year old danish guy, who is a baptized jw.
since one year ago i have been maturing gradually and asking questions about many things, not only about jw stuff(which has caused some problems.
but nothing i couldnt handle with a bit of social skill).
Put simply, he doesn't know what he's talking about. He says the form he is looking at is the official tax return of the WTBS, and shows its investments. It isn't and it doesn't. This is a tax return for a charitable trust, which is a separate entity created with somebody else's money. In this case it's the Henrietta Riley trust. The money invested is hers. Under US tax law, the beneficiary of such a trust has NO say in the management of the trust. It is managed by a trust company and regulated by the legal instructions of the person who established the trust, in this case Ms. Riley.
There are large issues for which the Watchtower needs to be held accountable. This isn't one of them, and harping on it obscures the real issues and gives JW's that choose not to see facts a good excuse not to look at real information about real problems.

Do you have links? I can't find anything.

Reminder: I'm an accountant.
I did some research on this a few months ago. This Thread contains my conclusions.
@Startrekangel No the WTBS does not own the O'Rielly trust. That trust is a separate entitiy that belongs to Ms O'Reilly's estate. It is managed for the benefit of the WTBS, but they don't have any say in how its run. These things are regulated by US law, which doesn't care what the Watchtower says in its magazines.
On both of these issue I don't think there is anything here for the XJW community. There are much bigger fish to fry: pedophiles, the theft (in my opinion) of local funds and kingdom hall ownership, misappropriation (probably) of donations, and who knows what went on in the construction of Warwick.
Citizenofearth: congratulations on doing your research. I expect you'll find you can't go back.
i doubt people consider me an apostate but you never know.🤓.
I know we were considered apostates when we left in 1989. The thirty page letter we sent them probably tipped them off. At this point, I'd be surprised if any of them even remember us. We moved a few years after we DA'd.
was there anything positive about your jehovah's witness experience?.
I quit smoking when I became a JW. I met my wife through the Witnesses. We've been together for 42 years, only fifteen of that was as JW's.
lt taught me what life would be like in a jail.
Either you've been in really nice jails or really bad kingdom halls.
to me they have an agenda and they really don't care about professional journalism.
most are untrustworthy and that's a shame.
That's why I suggest that it's better to listen to both sides, weigh the arguments and discern what is spin and what is based on reality, and that the truth is often somewhere between the two viewpoints.
Or sometimes, somewhere else entirely.

Progressives notice that Fox News has an agenda and lies to support it.
Conservatives notice that the other news outlets have an agenda and lie to support it.
Nobody (that I can see) notices that both of those statements are true.
Same shit, different day.
I'm reading a good suspense novel called "The Last Child" by John Hart. It's part of my research for a JW related thriller/suspense novel I'm in the middle of rewriting.
