Is this really about the Woke movement or more about ratings and viewership. If we lump everything together the message gets muddled.
It isn't muddled, those two things go hand in hand. "Woke" films don't draw big audiences. In an effort to get the ratings back they produce crummy remakes of old hits. Neither wokeness nor remakes require creativity. Hollywood has forgotten that the first thing they need to do is entertain people. The death spiral will continue until they get back to basics.
