I'd still love to get my hands on those financials.

I'm confused (happens a lot lately given my health issues )
"My lawyers relied on the court issuing a summons for more thorough supporting documentation..."
What the hell does this mean? His lawyers refused to work until he produced proof of his claims? His lawyers demanded the judge order the defendants provide proof of the claims Lloyd was making? (Not going to happen in any civilized courtroom.) They are trolling for information? (possible, but again not likely in a real court.)
I don't what Croatian lawyers charge, but in the US a 64 page legal document will put a significant dent in your wallet.

Your retired accountant would dearly love to see those financials. Please let me know if and when he produces them. I don't know how the Croatian courts deal with a request to produce records. In the US, refusing to provide them would not be an option.

I'm not surprised at the court's reaction to his suit.
I while back I pointed out that his book (Reluctant Apostate) displayed a number or rookie mistakes. For starters, it's way to long. It cuts across several genres (traditional publishers don't like that). If he had a proofreader they did a lousy job.
His approach to the courts shows the same lack of concern for how to do the job right. My reading of the court response appears to me to be a lecture from the judge about how to do things, and then an opportunity to fix the mistakes, which advice Lloyd didn't take.

I take exception to your characterization of Lloyd as having the intelligence of a toilet brush. This is unfair to toilet brushes. Toilet brushes serve a useful function in polite society.
Okay, I couldn't resist that. Lloyd has tried to get himself billed as the king of the apostates. But he never did have much to bring to the table. I can't think of a single thing I've heard from him that I didn't hear somewhere else first. The XJW community is quite capable of carrying on without him.

When did you see realise James Lloyd Evans was a wrongun?
by usualusername1 ini remember him on this site when he was called cedars and had jw survey.. straightaway i noticed he could not accept suggestions.. the time i knew he was dangerous was when his group aawa added people to their fb group without their permission and were outed.. he refused to close the fb page (whilst celebrating 1300 members joining in a few days).
one member complained and was subsequently disfellowshipped, which could easily have been avoided.. three week's after launching, the fb page was closed down.
from that moment i knew james lloyd evans was dangerous.. when did you realise he not good?.

I first became aware of him during the AAWA fiasco. When he first floated the idea it sounded good to me. I volunteered to do some work (I confess I was hoping to sell a novel about a high control religion and was looking for ways to promote it) but I found Lloyd's outing people to boost his numbers offended me. And somebody messed up the incorporation papers for AAWA, I don't know how that happened, but Lloyd signed it with his "Cedars" identity, and he claimed to live in the US, both of these are illegal.
A few years later he tried to steal (I don't know what else to call it) the copyright on Crisis of Conscience. Looking back on that mess I now believe that he was orchestrating a response from the flying monkeys. They were a lot of people clamoring to release the book without copyright because it was too important to wait until a new edition was ready.
And now we have the current mess. Part of his problem is that his book screams "Amateur." It is about twice as long as it should be, as noted above it covers about six genres.
Lloyd lurches from one crisis to the next, picking up new critics every time. Mr. Evans it is time to do something else.

He’s the perpetual victim and it is going to take an even bigger fall and complete breakdown for him to even get the message that he is hopelessly sick and needs help.
Absolutely. This is why you hear AA's talking about "hitting bottom." I knew I had a problem a year before I went into treatment. Even knowing I was in the process of destroying my life, and knowing that alcohol was a big part of the problem I refused to change because it was too much work and I didn't want to change.
I stopping going to church in 2009, but still consider myself a spiritual person. I believe that there is a force in our lives; call it "Karma" or "reaping what you sow" or "what goes around comes around." When the ferryman comes to collect the toll, you don't want to be found wanting.

The following is personal opinion based on experience. I'm a recovering alcoholic. In the summer of 2005 I attempted to take my own life. When I botched that I went into rehab and started putting my life back together. I ended up working in the rehab center for four years, and was able to watch how addicts behaved.
No matter what you are addicted to, you will demonstrate a cluster of common behaviors. Alcohol, cocaine, heroin, sex, porn, marijuana, chocolate all hit the same pleasure center in the brain. (OK, you won't go to jail for eating too much chocolate but it is still addictive).
Reading this thread has been like looking into a mirror showing myself in 2005. All addicts lie. As one of my co-workers said about one of our patients "he lied even when telling the truth would have served him better." I've seen comments here about how Lloyd probably gets kicks from lying. I disagree, I think he lies because he doesn't no how to tell the truth.
The other thing addicts do, is fight like cornered rats when somebody tries to take away our drug of choice. We've seen a lot of that here, too.
Lloyd, it doesn't have to be like this. There is still time for you to turn the ship around, redeem yourself and become an accepted member of this community, and society at large. Hell, I did it. It is painful to do (my initial recovery involved jail and community service time.) I don't know if you are an addict, but you have some issues that look al lot like addiction. Whatever it is, there are solutions. Find one, its worth it.
By the way, I think this is the second time I've said all this. I hope you are listening this time.

You have my condolences for your loss.
I think times of loss are when you really see the fruits of the Watchtower religion. They can't set their petty rules aside for five minutes and act like decent people. I wonder if any of them every actually see these services for what they are, or think about the impression they are really giving non-JW's.
I have to believe that anybody with half a brain will think they're all batshit crazy.
