  Some observations:

  After we left the JW's my wife and I attended an independent Evangelical church. The music there was very much like what's in this video. It is very easy to get caught up in the emotional rush. In fact this type of music is designed to do exactly that. You can call it "uplifting" or you can call it manipulative -- either way its more fun than anything I've ever seen or heard at a Kingdom Hall.

  Secondly, it strikes me that about 99% of that audience looked under the age of about thirty (and at what my granddaughter would call the upper end of the hottie scale). That is also deliberate these big churches are doing whatever they think it will take to appeal to young audiences. The Watchtower has fallen flat on its face in this regard.

  What he really thinks of his relationship with the WTBS is right there on the cover of his book: "The Reluctant Apostate." He (by this admission) advertises the fact that he did not want to leave the religion. He seems to have cobbled together some complaints about the Watchtower's doctrine and control, but when I look at what he says, and don't sense a lot of emotion behind it. Why?

  Because he didn't want to leave. His complaints ring hollow to me. I think the vast majority on this board would not go back if you dragged them in with wild horses. I think he'd go back in a second if they said they'd make him an elder this time next year.

  All this Sturm Und Drang is about him wanting to be a big shot witness. Then he wanted to be a big shot ex-witness. One problem: Most of us having gotten rid of one controlling big shot don't want another one.

  So the question needs to be asked: How many wavering JWs have decided to stay in the borg because him?

  Good question. He certainly isn't helping those of us trying to shine light on the Watchtower's misdeeds. How can he argue against the Watchtower when he engages in sexual immorality, experiments with drugs, and financially fleeces his "flock?"

  It would be interesting to hear how the average JW reacts to him. I imagine a good number consider him a perfect example of how "apostates" conduct their lives.

  It doesn't work that way. Unless Croatia has some medieval divorce laws

  Just because it doesn’t work like that doesn’t mean to say LE realises it doesn’t work like that.

  Could he have made her sign a prenuptial agreement entirely in his favor? From his point of view, that would make sense, I just don't know if he is capable of thinking that far ahead, or what the Croatian courts would make of it.

  jw claim they are the true religion and they mention the love they have among themselves as proof.

  i have been watching a youtube creator who had some thoughts on the subject, bringing out jw were not really christian, based upon their actions.

  he made a pretty good case.

  JWs don't understand Grace and they diminish the role of Jesus to the point it vanishes.
  

  I don't attend church any more. Not that I think the churches are wrong, I just don't need it. One thing I see that many ex-JW's need to understand is that (contrary to what they've been taught) there is little disunity among the Christian churches. Most Christians see each other as fellow believers. The differences between churches mainly concern church governance, not doctrine.

  He may think she could testify to the amount he earned

  Her testimony (or his) will be irrelevant. His bank records will be subpoenaed and become part of the court record. He made loss of income part of his complaint, if he doesn't want his finances made public his only option is dropping the lawsuit. I doubt he thought of that.

  The statistic I like to figure every year: it took 6,647 hours of field service to bring in one baptism. That's three people working full time for the entire year.

  "I am God and everyone is God".

  I know what is wrong with him: he was born about sixty years too late. When I was in college everyone was running around talking about how we were all God and how those in the know "Grokked" whatever we were talking about. The hard part was remembering the conversation after the acid wore off.

  How appropriate is this: I'm recovering from the meds they gave me for a surgical procedure yesterday. I did not see God or Lloyd. I'm blaming Kim for the piece of chicken teriyaki that got stuck in my throat.

  was there pressure from outside?

  were there any financial or other benefits to promoting experimental genetic therapy?.
