The WTS Two 'Credible' Witness Policy.......
by ISP inbelow is an excerpt from the branch letter to all congregations.. 'thus, although they investigate every allegation, the elders in not authorized by the scriptures to take congregational action unless there is a confession or there are two credible witnesses'.
it reaffirms the two witness policy.no surprise there...... but why does it say 'credible'?
witnesses are witnesses are they not?

Even if the authorities could gather the evidence. The entire WTS will not crumble
OR....
then again it may. I'd at least like to see that the people who have yet to pay
for their crimes pay (i.e. jail time.)
The march organized by SilentLambs.org for Sept. 27 is a step in this direction
and will be a total SUCCESS imo if it brings awareness to just one abused
child, parent or teen that they are not alone and that they CAN report the
abusers whether OR not there are "two witnesses to the crime."
As far as the whole WTS crumbling well i think this:
Have you ever been in a grocery store and a huge pile of cans comes tumbling
down when only ONE can (smack in the middle) is taken out? I see the
media attention that the WTS is receiving on their harmful policies
and the lies as the "can in the middle of the pile." When the credibility in
the policy making GB is slowly reduced to nothing, it will (hopefully)
ena ble individuals to take back control of their own LIVES .
Knowledge will ultimately bring down the entire harmful WTS from within.

Many victims have come forward to say that the very pedophiles who victimized them are OUT ON THE STREETS.So, what more is needed for the authorities to get a hold of those criminals that the WTS is harboring?
When will the actual files be seized and searched so that the loose perverts, who are out victimizing yet more children, will be stopped?
I would like to give my full support to the extent that I can to this cause.
Will the demostration scheduled for September (on the SilentLambs site) focus on bringing attention to the authorities to see the gravity of this matter?

My daughter will....
by Dawn inmy daughter is 5 today.
i was raised a jw but left long before she was born.
as i was getting ready for her party i started thinking...she'll be starting kindergarden soon and her life will be so different from mine.. she will............. 1) be able to participate in holiday celebrations.

by flower ini'm grateful for the friends i've made here and hope to continue relationships with them however this board has reached the 'more harmful than good' stage for me as well so i'm going to have to move on.
i've recently began re-question my decision to leave the jw's and have been wondering if we arent all really screwed up as is believed to be the case by jw's.
i need to go back and re-read all the exjw literature to prove to myself all over again that we are normal and ok and victims of a fraudulent cult.

I totally agree with jim rizoli, read the positive comments and those that are offensive to you for whatever reason, or because they are rude and vulgar, skip them at your first chance.
Focus on the positive and liberating feeling that you can have by seeing the oppresive WTS for what is really is. The comments that you find uplifting and empowering to YOU...print them out on your printer. Read them over if helps you.
I, myself have decided to leave the unscriptural rules of the WTS but that doesn't mean that I have stopped believing in GOD. I love the Bible and find great strenght by reading it--WITHOUT THE "help" of the magazines, etc.
I try to make allowances for people and try not to judge them. On the other hand if they say things that are offensive to me or that I disagree with I go on to speak with someone who can be good for ME.
Be true to yourself and keep the good friends that you have found here.

Hi,
I'm not sure that there IS anything to help someone who is addicted to this site.
I think since I began posting not long ago, I've come back to try to get to know PEOPLE as well as what they have to say. After coming out of the tight grip of the WTS, I just need to know that there IS life afterward and it can be WONDERFUL. I cherish every day that I live and take nothing for granted. I may not always agree with what others say but I feel a special bond to each and every one of you because of our similar past.

Great information about how unhealthy it is to let a destructive cult (by definition) control all aspects of your life.
I wish these informative articles could be on all the major newspapers so that people will be more alert to the dangers and not easily fall prey.
