does anyone have a current "oath" that the baptism candidates are asked to recite just before they line up to get immersed in water?
i'm interested in the exact wording of it and if there have been any recent changes in it.. any help is much appreciated.

my advice to anyone that is thinking of leaving the "organization" is to make friends (real friends) with people other than jehovah's witnesses.
the sad truth is that jws are only conditional "friends".
they will drop you like a hot potato if they think you want to leave.
the elders told me that the reason im so depressed is because i left the truth. little do they know i finally feel alive.
After I left the Borg, I finally felt I could pursue my own goals and start saving for my future--and not slave away for a publishing/real estate corporation that doesn't compesate life time work on their behalf with even a 401K plan.
The fact is Millions of JW now living will die before this elusive armageddon deal is done. Gillead Graduates and Special Pioneers will be wards of the state or living in sub-poverty standards when they become too old to serve the BORG in that capacity. These people will need what little money they can get from the government all because their organization didn't see fit to provide for their housing and food after they can no longer carry on the full time preaching work. Whosoever does not feed the least of these (full time evangelizers, etc.) does not figuratively feed Jesus and cannot rightfully claim to be either the Faithful or Discreet slave.

i started my biblical sereach after i was asked by a brother in my book study group why we could use fraction that was taken from coagulated blood, but can not auto-transfuse {store our own blood for later use} becasue the blood coagulates and then must be poured out onto the ground.
Now....last time I checked, they don't kill people to get donated blood. You are not responsible for that life.....the life is not in the blood. It is still in the person who donated it.
This makes a lot more sense, excellent research.

was looking at the jan 15th watchtower and reading it side by side with the january awake.. jehobar is mentioned probably hundreds of times in the wt (anytime god is referenced), instead in the awake --> god is used instead!!.
the only 2 or 3 times it is used in this awake is when quoting scriptures directly and jehobar is in that scripture!.
they are using cute tactics to sway the nieve
its constant use in the WT as a mind control tactic
After going to five meetings a week and studying for the meetings before you show up the meetings (to give those well-thought out comments, who has the time to read anything else??
It's as if they want to wipe your mind and you consciousness clean of all non-Watchtower material.
This reminds me of hypnotic control: Watchtower dogma is all you hear therefore Watchtower dogma is all you do.

i know many people will get angry at this, but i had to share some observations i've had since i discovered this board a couple of days ago (see my original post under "why all the venom?").
i'll be very honest and say that i was hoping that i would discover that the jw's were wrong about some things, including the so-called "apostate" sites (i have been recommended to some internet sites and some books that i plan to investigate further).
i was hoping to find that people really didn't need the jw's "spiritual food" to remain true to god.
If the JW's are one extreme, it seems to me that so many former JW's on this thread have gone to the other extreme.
Based on some things you have read on this online forum, you may feel that you can make that assumption.
But the fact is you haven't personally gotten to know all of the ex-JW out there. EX-JWs cannot be neatly classified as a bunch of immoral/drug addicted/dishonest people ----as the WTS would portray "worldly poeople."
People here represent any diverse group you might find in any segment of society. Some ex-JWs do have very strict values and standards that they live by and others might offend you by what they do or say.
Begin by posting discussions about your interests--spiritual and otherwise and see who else has these interests in common with you.
You'll soon find that many here enjoy hearing from you and have many of the same intrests you do.

The parents, Joanne and Winston Ammon Jr, who belong to the Jehovah's Witness faith, had objected to the blood transfusion on the basis of their religious beliefs
I'm glad the courts moved quickly enough to try to save one of the twins. This "rule" never made sense to me.

a relationship between the two does not exist.
(i have touched on the reason why in other posts regarding both my children).
