  so I ticked a professor off

  i missed the last two days of class, and did not email him before class telling him i was going to miss.

  evidently this was a requirement for the class.

  he emailed me today and told me i could not return to class until i meet with him and the school dean, and if i didn't do it by monday he was going to assign an f for the course.

  What school is this? I have taught at the university level and I can't imagine this kind of behavior being tolerated.

  Personally, I wouldn't put up with it.

  i knew a girl who got married at 19 despite objections from the elders , they got disfellowshipped and reinstated after 18 months , he chose her clothes and would not allow her any money , he insisted on doing the food shopping with her , he hit her if tea was not on the table when he returned from work , he broke her nose once when she was holding her 2 year old child , when she approached the elders , onesaid to her "what are you complaining about ,he hasnt broke every bone in your body , there are sisters who put up with much worse !

  if a jw man is not supposed to be violent why would they not give him a telling off ?.

  My sister. She left the JWs for a while, got married to a Navy officer and later on came back to the JWs. The Navy officer started studying. One day my sister (we are very close) had obviously broken bones in her face and nose. I asked her what happened, she did not want to tell me, but I can be persuasive. I immediately went to the PO house and told him what happened and that they had to have a JC to deal with this person. My sister's husband was close to being baptized, he had gone over the questions and was to be baptised at the next assembly. The elders did NOTHING.

  I went to see my brother in law and told him in no uncertain temrs that if my sister ever had a hair out of place again he was a dead man.

  Then HE reported ME to the elders and they came around trying to talk shit to ME. I told them to go fuck off and mind their own busines.

  wednesday night i recieved a call from both the coeb and the kingdom hall.

  i didn't answer.

  yesterday i called him back and i was informed that unless i wanted to talk to the brothers they had determined that my actions spoke for themselves and that i had by those actions disassociated myself.

  I never understood the need to read a DA letter. Because of the rumour mill the JWs in an inactive person's circuit know more about that person's spiritual welfare than the inactive person does. All the JWs already know if any given JW is conforming to the rules or not. The fact that the inactive person is not there every meeting says that already. So, why is it necessary?

  "Worldly" people don't view in inactive person as a JW and couldn't care less anyway. The JWs already know. So, what purpose does a DA announcment serve?

  have not attended meetings or gone out in service for years.

  i haven't now for 6 years + .

  I guess I have a different experience from a lot of the ones I have seen on here.

  When I left the WTBTS organization, JWs, whatever you want to call it, I didn't "fade", I didn't "DA" myself, I just never went back. I don't want to talk to any JWs except my family, my mom is still active, my sisters are somewhat active, they all talk to me freely and never stopped. I only discussed my leaving the JW cult one time, that was with my mother and she pulled the "I don't want to discuss it" cop out after she saw that I had very strong reasons for wanting out. But she didn't punish me in any way for that discussion. My sisters have never mentioned it to me at all.

  I have not seen nor heard from anyone that I knew in the JW cult since I left, nor do I want to, except for when an elder hijacked my father's funeral, a man who detested the Witnesses his entire life but was nice to them because he was a decent man.

  I never cared whether any JWs ever talk to me again, I reallly didn't want them to anyway, so the shunning thing was never an issue for me.

  My ex mother in law has always been nice to me even though she has both the fact that I am no longer a JW and no longer married to her daughter, but she was always a very nice woman.

  Strangely enough, my father was mad at me for telling my mother that the JWs are a cult, do not teach what the Bible says and are following the dictates of a Governing Body consising of senile old perverts, and I didn't believe the Bible to be the word of "God" anyway. And he had opposed the JWs all his life. I found that pretty strange.

  How come people with the least means of supporting themselves ''Pioneer'' ?

  my cousin told me last week that for the month of february she was ''pioneering''.

  here is a person who was divorced 2 years ago and had to move in with her mom because she can't afford to live on her own .she only works 4 days a week.

  she pays $600 every 2 months for health insurance because she is self-employed.

  I went through this. I graduated high school one year early. Of course I did not go to college. So, here you are, a recent college graduage with no skills, no money, no prospects. I pioneered because it was a way to do something "important" when you had no other prospects in life.

  In retrospect it was ridiculous. Once I lived in an old office trailer, no heat/air conditioning, no plumbing, just 4 bare metal walls.

  After a few years of this nonsense I woke up and got two jobs and then got into sales, which I was very good at. I never pioneered again.

  The Iranians are using the classic "talking and fighting, fighting and talking" tactic. They talk when it suits them to buy time so they can fight better later on.

  The North Vietnamese used this approach to steal victory in a war that they had decidedly lost.

  And the Iranian regime has done what exactly to show that they are trustworthy?

  why did god ask him to kill his own child ?

  my ex dub hubby is put of god by that story alone ,and my 21 year old daughter thinks it was very cruel of god to play mind games with abrahams head if its true ,why would a loving god do such a thing and what was the reason ?

  i still believe in god myself but can not give an explanation for that one at all ..

  when jehovah's witnesses began distributing door to door the new world translation beginning in the early 1950's a firestorm of protest broke out in mainstream churches.

  the alarm cry was "they've changed the bible to fit their own crooked teachings!".

  you can imagine the discord as church members tried to figure out how jehovah's witnesses could prove by reading from the nwt the king james version was full of ommissions and errors and outright fraud concerning, for instance, the trinity doctrine or the name of god!!.

  The Sauidis are the biggest supporters of the global Jihad movement as that is where Wahabiism is strongest and where it originates from. Not sure what your point is. I don't view Saudi Arabia as America's friend, the Bush family has been in bed with the Saudis since the Prescott Bush days.

  We should take the war against our enemies wherever it leads us and it definitely leads to Saudi Arabia.

  I'm not sure what that has to do with Iran, their nuclear weapons program and their insane leaders which is what I was talking about and which is the topic of this thread.
