Do any of you that are architects, structural engineers or general contractors live in Florida? My children need someone who knows what they are looking at to help them make a plan for fixing their house.

My children's grandmother tries to keep them from getting their burned home repaired....
by HappyGuy ini knew that jehovah's witnesses were callous and cruel but this just takes it to a new level.. my children's house was burned in a fire and their idiot mother (my ex wife) did not have insurance on the house.. home depot is trying to help them and has offered to donate materials to repair the house and has asked habitat for humanity to get involved to supply the labor.. the habitat for humanity district manager came to my children's house and met the home depot district manager and my children.. after they left my children's grandmother (who lives in the house) told them that if habitat for humanity is involved in fixing the house that she will refuse to live there any more because they are involved with christendom.
so, she is putting pressure on my ex wife to leave the house burned and leave my chlidren (her grandchildren) homeless.. my middle daughter said "well, we will miss you when you leave".
my youngest daughter said, "well i guess i won't be seeing you any more because i refuse to live in a burned house when people are offering to help fix it but you and my mother are so stupid and retarded that you won't let them help".. please tell me that my ex wife won't be stupid enough to go along with this nonsense.

The grandmother had no trouble living in the house when I was paying all the bills even though she knows that I am EXTREMELY opposed to the JWs , so this "nothing to do with Christendom" nonsense is hypocritical.
I have made up my mind that if the grandmother and mother pursue this I am going to go to Florida and make as much trouble for them as I can.
Oh, my children said that the JWs have not been by nor called ONCE since the fire. They brought that up to the grandmother the other day, not sure what the reply was.
The Catholic nuns in the area are helping my daughters with day to day stuff and they said the same thing, "Where is all the help from JWs then?", when told that the grandmother refuses to touch anything they provide.

So what if it's a bunch of hooey? Do you not all deserve clean and usable air?
If this issue was presented as a need for investing money into new sources of energy and conservation programs issue (hot water heaters on every rooftop as an example) then there would be large support for such a program. But this climate change hysteria is absolutely the wrong way to go about achieving such aims, which says to me that the promoters of this nonsense don't really care about the energy issues they really care about cap and tax (MONEY$$).

My children go to the house everyday to work on the house, they dont' want to leave the area because they want to save their house. Two of my daughters are in school, one of them wants to graduate with her class.
Right now they are all staying with friends.
Of course they can come and stay with me, they just don't want to abandon their house because they know if they are not there the idiot JWs in their family will just let it become completely dilapidated. The idiot JWs are the adults.
My children are smart enough not to let the child services people get involved in their life.
I think that my children are going to see this through with Home Depot and Habitat, the only real problem is that their grandmother is threatening that she will die if she becomes homeless, but she always uses that threat to get her way, so I think my children are just ignoring her. The only thing I dont know is what my idiot ex wife will do. She has always put her JW family ahead of her children (and me).

The global warming nutjobs themselves admitted that global warming was in error when they switched their language to "climate change". They made this switch right after reports were released showing that the climate was not warming up.
This labelling anyone who doesn't agree with your position a "neocon" is insulting and intellectually dishonest. I don't believe the climate change hysteria for very solid scientific reasons having nothing whatsoever to do with Fox news or any of the lunatic "right" nutjobs on TV or the radio.
I am a Goldwater conservative on fiscal issues, a libertarian on social issues, and a constitutionalist on government issues. So trying to label me a "neocon" doesn't hold water. What does Bush have to do with this issue? I didn't get any of my facts that underlie my opinion on this from Bush.
You make the assumption that climate change is/will be 'damaging'. Great Britain, Greenland, Canada, and the Scandinavian countries all had global warming in the middle ages, vinyards in the northern British Isles, dairy farms in Greenland, the people in these areas thrived, they were not damaged. What proof can you offer that the climate change you are predicting will be "damaging"?
I also completely reject the "solution" that the climate change hysterians are proposing because they won't do anything except move trillions of dollars from people that they don't like to people that they do like (themselves and their cronies).
Now if you want to talk about energy conservation and developing new sources of energy (because it makes so much sense for so many reasons to do so) without trying to shove the church of climate change doctrine down my throat I am ready, willing, and able to discuss it and I agree that it needs to be done. But if that is the goal then say it is the goal and properly fund it directly and don't try to force on me some charlatan shell game called cap and trade where all the money stolen from rate payers will not end up achieving these goals (it won't).
I think that most Americans are rational enough and patriotic enough that if conservation and creating new sources of energy was promoted for the benefits it will bring our country and was presented HONESTLY "we will need to undertake these N number of projects which will cost this X amount of money over the next Y years", I think they would support it. But, because the climate change hysterians are trying to bully us and scare us into accepting their word for it and their "solution", then very few support acheiving these goals.

I hate to break this to you Perry but these are not facts they are opinions and theory. The material universe did not come from nothing it came from energy. Solving Einstein's relativity theory, E=MC2, for mass we get M=E/C2, thus mass came from energy.
Many theorize that the universe did not "evolve" that it had a beginning at a fixed point, unless the word "evolve" here is being used to describe the expansion from that fixed point.
