So how do the "remnant" die?

according to the "new" light of the wts some of the "remant" will still be alive when armageddon breaks out.. on page 352 of the book "you may survive armegeddon onto god's new world" it says that the remnant has to die so they can be resurrected with a "sprirual body".. .

this sounds like yet another doctrinal discrepancy to me.. .

So, let me make sure I understand this.

We are all born into sin. Thus we are automatically sinners, no way around that.

Then after we pay the wages of sin, death, we are then resurrected so that we can be judged for how we lived when we were alive.

Then, if we were judged as being "bad", I'm guessing this means "sinful", then we die again, but our soul is cast into hell fire.

So, the wages of sin is not death? And, we are judged for being sinners, but we were born into sin so we had no choice?

Forgive me if I am very confused.

Any JWs out there care to clear this up for me?

they repeatedly said mj could still move and the video clips of rehearsals proved it.

Meat Loaf's singing in the play The Rocky Horror Show is what led to the movie the Rockie Horror Picture Show.

It has been said of ML that he once hit a note so high in a recording session that he blew out the sound board. Not sure if that is true or not.

To tell my parents or not to tell my parents...unfortunately that is a question

i could use some perspective on something i'm struggling with.

first off, a little background info.

i am an only child and my parents, in addition to quite difficult circumstances we've all experienced, both personally and as a family while i was growing up, remain devout.

What little I learned about God and Christ? Excuse me? Let's see, I have read the Bible from cover to cover since I was 9 years old. I spent two years researching the Bible and the WTBTS when I had a shipwreck of faith. I think I know something about it.

By your question "are you thrilled with the future of Mankind?", what you are really asking is "Now that you do not believe that Jehovah will bring a paradise earth, are you thrilled with the alternative?". Why don't you say what you mean?

Yes, I am thrilled that I no longer have to cry my eyes out because I believe that wonderful people I know will be murdered by "Jehovah".

I am thrilled that I no longer believe that the cold hearted, stoic, bureaucratic, judgemental, self righteous, hypocrites who make up most of the positions of power and prestige in the JW organization will be ruling the earth for an eternity.

I am VERY thrilled not to believe this nonsense any more.

As to the future of Mankind. In 2012 the earth is going to cross the galactic equatorial plane which happens once every 64,000 years. The builders of the Great Pyramid at Giza believed that this was going to mean something very profound for human beings. Perhaps lead to some form of englightenment. I'm not sure. I am looking forward to finding out.

Well, I LOVE Christmas and I am not a Christian and I do not believe that Jesus Christ was the son of "God", nor do I believe that the Bible is "The truth".

I don't celebrate Christmas because I thinnk Jesus was born on a given day. I could care less about that. I celebrate Christmas because it is a time to share love and happiness with my friends and family. And my wife gives the BEST stocking stufffers <wink wink>.

This bickering over when a fictional character was or was not born is so tiring.

Of course you have to tell them. Don't let their ignorant behavior affect how you behave toward them. Give them alll the love that you want to and let their behavior be on them.

Let them share in your joy if they want to. So, tell them and don't worry about what they think about it.

Also, invite them to the wedding.

I am 52 and I can sing countertenor which is the highest range male voice in opera. My speaking voice is much lower than that. I don't sing like that all the time, only when the music calls for it. Like in Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song or Stairway to Heaven, or trying to sing any of Meatloaf's songs.

If Jackson was speaking in a high tenor pitch then he was doing it on purpose. Singing voice and speaking voice are not the same thing.

Did You WANT To Talk To Disfellowshipped People?

It depended on who it was. I had several friends who I knew to be good hearted people who were disfellowshipped because they were dating a worldy person (over the sex outside of marriage issue), but I knew these people well and knew that they were not a danger to the congregation and were not "immoral".

I also had family members who were DF'd who I still talked to.

There were others who I knew were two faced scumbags who I would not speak to, but those people I didn't talk to before they were DF'd.

Why does God hate Grand Funk Railroad?

like all teenagers of the early 70s i loved grand funk railroad.

especially their live album.

yes, mark farner is probably the worst guitar player in the history of music but mel shacher is the best bass player in the history of music.. their music is so silly.

Like all teenagers of the early 70s I LOVED Grand Funk Railroad. Especially their live album. Yes, Mark Farner is probably the worst guitar player in the history of music but Mel Shacher is THE best bass player in the history of music.

Their music is so silly. But, it is very danceable, happy, and fun.

Not only did they not sing about drugs, almost all their live shows were interrupted by Farner giving a 'lecture' about drug use.

I will never forget a day when one of the elders chose to grace our family with his presence, and I was very happy that he and his wife were visiting our little apartment, and as he walks in the front door he sees Grand Funk Railroad Live on my mother's stereo and he picks it up and sniffs like he smells something bad and says "This looks wild, this will have to go".

I asked why and he mumbled something about drugs and I said "But the band members dislike drugs and tell the young people not to use drugs", then he switched to the sex excuse, and I said "but their songs have no sexually explicit lyrics in them". This then turned into an oratory on "rock" music altogether.

I never did figure out why God hates Grand Funk. Don't you just love that name?
