not a JW but believe in jehovah

first of all even if i'm not a jw i believe in jehovah much more than myself.

when i was 6 my aunt(she is a jw) has started to thought me about jehovah.

at the beginning the religions things wasn't so impotante for me couse i was so young but as i grew i've started to understand the impotance of jehovah in my life.

Decided I needed a couple of weeks break last June. Enjoyed the vacation and decided I would like a long one, so never went back.

Did you suffer from self hatred in the borg?

iwill be the first to say that i did.

not surprising considering how they treated me all my life.

i had conseling for it ( wordly counselor) but between us neither one could work out where this issue came from.

I dont know about self hatred, but definitely felt crappy about who I was. I never felt good enough, what with all that constant self examination. Now I have a much healthier and more balanced view of myself. As a song says "learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all"

I am very happy you can speak to those you love again. I know how it feels to be cut off. However, how sad that you have to live a lie for those who care about you to be allowed to talk to you.

Was Jehovah God Ever Real To You?

we were taught how wonderful a god he is and how fortunate we were to be his people.

of course, you can't see jehovah god.

I thought he was at the time. Now, looking back I realised he was just my imaginary friend. Worshipping a God, if he is there, that you cant see, have meaningful two way communication with, or get definite answers from without having to search through a psycho Bible, is like spending your life trying to grasp the wind - pointless.

If he is there then he is completely crap at communication.

Contradiction in scripture and equality

okay so i've just found a scripture that totally condraticts what the jws preach and also a lot of equality laws.. proverbs 22:29 talks about if a man is skilled enough in his trade then he will no longer need to slave for the common people, he can serve kings.. so the bible is telling jws and christians to pursue their secular work and time so they need no longer "slave" for the working classes.

not only does this reinforce capitalism but it also goes against putting jehovah first and his workship.. i don't get it!!!.

i thought jws were supposed to treat everyone the same.

I agree Imarx. Jw's pull out random scriptures to a prove whatever point they want to at the time. When you spend as much time as a JW being indoctrinated, you end up in a better position than most at making your views and Bible knowledge look valid. The Bible is just full of contradictions anyway so it is hardly surprising the world is full of scraping religions.

Non-beleiving partners, are you getting your JW partner something for Valentine's?

i figured that although my wife is busy getting herself ready for baptism, answering the pre-baptismal questions and all, i would still get her something for valentine's day.

i wanted to give it to her at work and give her some 'bragging rights' with her female co-workers but it did not work out.

any others like me planning to do the same for their jw partner?.
