"The Problem of EVIL & SUFFERING" Thread!

for all individuals who are atheists, agnostics, christians, jews, muslims, jehovah's witnesses, or anyone else: this is the thread to post the very best argument against god or defense/case for god based on the problem of evil/suffering.. if there is an all-good, all-powerful, all-knowing god, why does he allow all of the suffering and evil we have today (and down through the millenniums)?.

also, for those who believe in god (like myself), how do you harmonize/reconcile your belief in god with the fact of all of the evil and suffering in the world?.

i will post my beliefs on this shortly..

You are correct, you said "creationists" not "Christians." I was just trying to make a distinction because those Christians who believe in evolution could also be considered "creationists" because they believe that the Creator created the physical Universe at the Big Bang, while they do NOT believe in the Young Earth belief or the literal 24-hour days of Genesis.

TRINITY Challenge for JW's, Unitarians and Anyone Else

trinity challenge using only the new world translation of the holy scriptures -- let us debate and reason on the scriptures about whether god almighty is a trinity, or is only one person.. on another thread, bane said that we know for a fact immediately that nearly all religions other than jehovah's witnesses are false because almost all of them believe in the trinity.

and bane claims he can "out-scripturize" anyone with the help of jehovah.

* the son was praying to the father.

There are many Christians who believe similar to Francis Collins.

Dr. Collins believes that the Intelligent Designer started the Big Bang, and then at some point in time, caused life to originate out of non-life, and then He started the biological process of evolution -- and badabing -- here we are today discussing it.

Not all Christians deny evolution. There are many who believe it. Just so we don't over-generalize here.

I don't think it necessarily has to be an either/or choice as you described. There are many deep-thinking Christians who believe in God, Jesus, the Bible AND in science, such as Francis Collins (who is a strong believer in both God and evolution), Victor Reppert, Lee Strobel, Norman Geisler, C.S. Lewis, (Strobel, Geisler, and Lewis said that they found fault with evolution on the scientific evidence, not because they were Christians)
