Question about WT article about ancient city of Tyre

My question is specifically on this statement, " Five years passed but Nebuchadnezzar did not give up the siege. Seven years passed, ten years, and still Tyre resisted." " Twelve years passed. Tyre still resisted. Finally, after thirteen years"

Does it not seem odd that wording? Instead of just saying the Nebuchadnezzar layed seige for 13 years, the writer of the article specifically stops at the number 5, 7, 10, 12, and 13 to finally get to the point?

Thats like asking somebody how long was World War one, and you say, well 6 months pass and they were still at it, then 10 months, but it still kept going, so 1 year went on, 2 years, finally after 4 years it lasted 4 years.

Those numbers do match or are related in other aspects to the content there. I'm wondering if the articles writer was trying to secretly put a message in there. If he did I got it, but was it intentional or from something else?

Alltimejeff - I am not publishing special information. I have not published anything I've come to understand, with all the scriptures backing it up, at this point of time. There is one thing I will do, just so any reading this will know I am for real. This has never to my knowledge been published in any WT articles or anything, and what I'll mention here is just enough to show but won't get anyone anywhere unless they get more on their own.

Revelation's Babylon the Great - Revelation Chap 18 gives a lot of details of Babylon the Great, where nations and kings of the earth commited fornication with her, and the merchants of the world became rich because of her, and at her destruction. In Revelation 18:10 - the kings of the earth "stand at a distance for fear of her torment". Then the merchants are weeping over her, in Rev 18:15, 19, alas alas that great city which had ships on the sea become rich by her, what is like this great city".

Do you know where else there are prophecies about Babylon the Great? Do you know other ways to identify Babylon the Great?

The ancient city of Tyre IS/Represents Babylon the great as well. The prophesy is identical. The prophecy of Tyre was to give insight of it's future fulfillment at the end days.

Ez chap 26:16 matches Rev 18:10 - the princes come off their robes, remove their 'embroidered' garments (to disguise themselves) and clothe themselves with trembling. (they are fearful of sharing in her judgement)

Ez 27:32 matches Rev 18:19 comparing the whole context of those chapters, you'll see how they are identical.

Now if you look up the history of Tyre, you'll see how it's ancient destruction occured. Also in Ez, you'll see how quite a bit of what was mentioned against it, was referring to the end of days and it's modern counterpart, Babylon the Great.

At this point, some may wonder, well, the USA sure matches all of the characteristics of Tyre, importing, the worldwise hub of trade, the worlds seafaring merchants getting rich off her, so could the USA be soon destined for the fate of Tyre? But then, how could it be guilty of the blood of the prophets(long before it became a country) and misleading the entire earth?

But no need to worry or figure all of that out Jeff, it's "only a book of man"

Alltimejeff - I'll post some scriptures to respond to your last post, as these scriptures and subject should be black and white and easy for all to understand.

To address 2 things you mentioned, 1st is that, "anybody" can get understanding.

Matt 13:10-11 - Disciples ask Jesus why he speaks in parables instead of saying things black and white that all can understand, Jesus responds, "because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but to them it has not been given."

13:35 - "I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world"

Matt 16:17 - blessed are you, simon Bar-Johnah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

Matt 11:25 - I thank you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.

All of this is not to say that anyone is unable to get understanding. The scriptures also speak of a time when spirit is poured out on all, and also Jesus said those who ask the heavenly father for spiritual food he would give, and also in James it's written asking for Godly wisdom.

There are things that will for sure prevent one from getting it. For one, God is a reader of hearts, and will know your true intentions, even if you do not. He also will know the right time, if the current time isn't correct. James shows that if you ask, and have ANY doubts, your better off not asking, because you wont' get it. If your asking for holy spirit, but will reject anything that contradicts or goes against what you've believed, most likely will end there. It's not an easy road to seek out the truth like fine treasure and pearls, to give your life for it, to sacrifice everything. If you find on the path you may have to sell all your possession, to give up most of your life, at what point will you draw the line.

Those getting any insight also may have done NOTHING to deserve it. Remember the apostle Paul. But he took his correction and changed himself. Some may have to really seek it out, some God may choose for his own glory and have snatched them. But the point it, based on scripture, NOT everyone, NOT anyone, will get it and understand it, nor are allowed, only whom God and Jesus choose.

As for the timing of the information, although worldwide many may be on the same subjects or getting there, such as like an act of God. Everytime an understanding changes, even 1 slight detail, it may change or clarify the meaning of countless scriptures, so that having to rego over them, and more correct understanding brings forth more light. One can't understand calculus before learning addition and subtraction.

Some of my questions are for current things I'm working on, and some are to find any on the same page in that category to compare notes. I don't ask my questions so that anyone can answer or understand them, only if any have happened to go through the same topic already in their personal studies, it does not mean they are not privy to it on their own or never will be, but at the least they haven't done it yet, either their own choosing by letting other matters of their life take priority or not at that point yet. Based on what you can see in those above posted scriptures, I am very careful in what I publish for all to see, so as not to overstep and announce knowledge God may want to remain hidden for the time being or that somebody with bad intentions uses the information

Mystery of the week, still trying to figure this one out.......

after reading the 2nd half of the bible about 3 times in a 3 month period, i felt i needed to start from the beginning.

for the most part, been told most important things which apply to us and that is needed are the books of matthew - onward.

well i found out quickly from psalms onward how untrue that is.

Larsinger58 - I more specifically was referring to "the temple". There is an answer that makes sense though. The temple being a literal place on earth, being inside you, and in heaven, all relating to the future, not the past (ancient jurusalem).

Asking these questions out of the blue, without having read and gone through the research prior to it will not make any sense whatsoever. If somebody asked me any of these 3 months ago, prior to my point of research at this point, I would not understand them either. That's why for this particular thread, had said if you haven't studied this, you wouldn't understand or be able to answer. In the future you may run into this and then know what I'm talking about.

To Alltimejeff - I don't see how you relate any of these questions to lonliness or confusion. They ARE confusing questions, especially if not knowing the progression of reading, study, and scriptures which brings up the questions. That is why I made the statement I did at the beginning, I don't know any other way of putting it, but if you haven't studied this topic yet, you won't understand it. Can you be more specific on your conclusions about me, and also on what you think I will change? (you must have an idea of what I already am, and what I will change into, to make that statement)

Thanks, but I am referring directly to Neb siege of 13 years, in that WT article, why did they add some 'fluff' to the story at 5 years, 7, 10, 12, then finally 13. They didn't even mention anything of note happening at those points. I want to see if those mentioned points had to do with a prophecy or if randomly added to make the story a little longer? If it was added as fluff, guess will never know for sure why the writer chose those numbers in particular.

Had not the city resisted Shalmaneser for five years, causing that king to give up the siege? Nebuchadnezzar attacked confident Tyre, and the siege was on. Five years passed but Nebuchadnezzar did not give up the siege. Seven years passed, ten years, and still Tyre resisted. Surely the king of Babylon would give up the attempt and go home, so the Tyrians must have thought. But the siege went on. Twelve years passed. Tyre still resisted. Finally, after thirteen years, the siege engines of Nebuchadnezzar prevailed. Tyre fell. The city was razed."

I was doing research on Tyre for certain reasons and came upon this article, my question is does anybody know where the mention of years passing prior to hitting the 13th year came from? It is no coincidence or making the story more eleborate, the mention of those years was definitely deliberate, and I need to find out what it came from.

1. God's Kingdom and the return of it, have you seen it described as literal, with a literal temple on earth with literal waters and trees of life, also the temple described as being inside of you with waters inside of you, and also as a heavenly kingdom which either rules from heaven or comes to earth with waters and trees of life (either real or symbolically), have you concluded what all of them mean and which is true or how all descriptions may relate to eachother from the supposed difference.

2. Have you come upon the paradox of knowledge vs faith, in which more knowledge could mean condemnation vs ignorance. Is knowledge only for elect and non elect are better off without it or is full knowledge to be broadcast to all.

3. "Get out of her my people if you do not want to share in her sins" - "I am sending you as sheep amidst wolves, to be cautious as servants yet innocent as doves" - how do you take the two statements to relate, have you solved this paradox, currently working on it, or have no idea what I'm talking about?

SON OF MAN - Ez 16:2 - all of Ezekiel he is called son of man. Son of man likely refers to annointed/elect/prophets/chosen by God.

As for false Christs - Christ means annointed, which is prevalent today, even outside of JW's.

What's interesting too, is that with the knowledge and understanding of scriptures all of a sudden going on for many, it would be part of prophecy that they are on God/Christs side, but at the same time fits description of the false christs, in the sense of people being able to distinquish true from not true. In that aspect, everyone needs to trust in God and make sure every slight thing they may be persuaded to believe is in agreement with the scriptures and their conscience, having faith in God.

Book of Enoch - That book, Secrets of Enoch, and a few others similar found in the dead sea scrolls or over 1,000 years old, do contain information which seems too accurate or in agreement with the bible to just dismiss.

At the same time, some of them appear to be in agreement with the bible, but with the additional information changing the entire meaning of some things. Or seem to give more insight, and the additional information contradicts or is against what's taught in the bible. Those books, if gonna read any, you will need to have a LOT of time on your hands or give yourself a lot, because they will raise many questions.
