hi all!!

im insanely excited and absoluteky flooeed with my wifes reacton to my honesty on the wt....shes worried about returning to who she eas, wanting to do drugs and drink and be anparty-er....so i ask many in my situation......whats next?!?!

It's her choice. Not everybody who leaves JW's nor is not a JW lead a debauched life. You'll find in regards to biblical morals (if she wants to stick to those) are practiced without fear of shunning by many Christian churches.

I also know someone who was majorly into drugs, stealing, jail, prostitution, etc, who had their entire life turned around when they got help from a Prysberterian (however it's spelt) Church that had drug programs. The past 20 years she's never returned to that and now helps those with drug problems as well. Her church also had specialized training and helpers for depressed and those contemplating suicide, unlike the recently posted Elder's training video, which pretty much said, "Don't commit suicide or Jehovah will kill you at armagedon".

Some have inquired if the Faithful and Discreet Slave are spirit directed and are truely getting new light, why does the new light change so often, as with the case of the understanding of the generations?

Imagine a baker bakes a fresh batch of loaves of bread. They are delicious and nurturing. However after some time, they become old, stale, moldy, and even DANGEROUS to eat.

New light is like fresh bread. The holy spirit communicates this new light to the Faithful and Discreet Slave. It's spiritually wholesome and nurturing and vital for your spirituality, but in time, this new light will become stale, and moldy and dangerous, which is why apostates love to eat it and try to give it to you.

Each time there is new light, that is fresh wholesome bread. Are we not grateful that the Faithful and Discreet Slave give us an abundance of new light? All the new light the past year should be clear evidence that the Faithful and Discreet Slave is being lead by Holy Spirit. And like moldy, deadly bread, let us throw away and flee from the old light and never take a bite if offered by apostates!!

One aspect of evolution that does not make sense.....

the part that does make sense are how bodies adapt over time to surroundings and use.

for example because of eating habits changing, our jaws have become smaller and we don't need wisdom teeth.

or the effect of the sun on our skin, etc.

You asked him isn't a chameleon changing it's color to match the background. Cofty's answer, "No".

That above article has this statement... " The chameleons colour-matched their backgrounds much more closely when presented with a bird than a snake, the team found."

So Cofty said no, but this study says otherwise.

Apgo and I atleast agreed that most likely they DO do that and the studys and disputing articles that say its ONLY for communication are likely the result of the chameleons being comfortable with their surroundings and no need to spend extra energy to camouflage. But Cofty still thinks it's only for communication it seems.

Do athiests believe it's possible that aliens, not all powerful God created man?

i've sort of mentioned this as a different possibility in response to other threads but i was curious if any of you athiests all think that life just evolved on this earth from single cell organisms or if you ever thought it's possible that intelligent life long ago w/ advanced science could have made humans and much of life on earth and just dumped it here or made it here.

i'm not making this thread to debate, i am just curious if any of you have come up with other ideas on your own as possibilities since all we have for the origin of life are just theories right now.

I brought up the possibilitly after contemplation.

There is a whole world inside a cell.

Now the cell itself is alive and there is a whole world inside our bodies of living cells. Imagine if what's inside cells started thinking and trying to figure out their origins, they can't see beyond the world inside the cell, the cell is the world.

Imagine if the cells themselves in our bodies tried to figure out where life originated, our body is their universe, they wouldn't be able to figure it out.

Recently it's been discovered that possibly our entire universe, not galaxy but the whole universe may be from a 4th dimensional star becoming a black hole, so then possibly our entire universe was born from a small part of another universe. Our entire universe may be just like that little cell in our body with a world contained within.

That reminds me of this JW whose worldly father died. I went to the funeral and only a few showed up. The JW whose own father died knew some worldly relatives were showing up. He did not speak one word about his father, he just did a preaching / resurrection talk. Could see there was no love for his own father there.

No reality is not dull at all.

Things we DO know and are FACT are fascinating.

Putting a halt to critical thinking for theories and hypothesis that so far can not be proved is limiting and could be hindering.

It seems most of the world thinks that the answer life on Earth must be either A) creation by all knowing all powerful eternal master of the universe OR B) a series of dividing by zero and a trillion chances to one for just the right conditions to happen to just the right thing to spontaneously result in the first life form then subsequent mutations resulting in billions of different life forms on Earth.

What if both are wrong? If it's nonstop trying to prove one or the other without entertaining other possibilities then may never get the answer if it really is neither of those two.

island man - while it's true if the origin of life on Earth was extraterrestrial would not answer the question about the origin of life and the origin of the extraterrestrial life, it would be a step in the right direction and possibly impossible to answer without access to the extraterrestrial and if that is the case, the answer may never be found until that happens if it happens. We may be the equivalent of metal robots w/ AI built into ourselves to what extraterrestrials may be if they made us. Gotta work backwards to get to the origin, jumping and skipping major points probably won't work. But we gotta work with what we have now.
