  The no voting/no political doctrine is very flawed!

  you all know the doctrine, it's satan's system, can't participate, voting means putting faith in man instead of god, etc.

  if so, if god put them in place, then he put faith in them to handle things to an extent and so if you happen to live in a country where people vote on how that government does things, should they not be voting?

  now here is a real contradiction...... as the bible says, it's impossible to get outside of the world.

  Do they not say though that God put the governments in place to keep order and handle things until he personally takes charge? If so, if God put them in place, then he put faith in them to handle things to an extent and so if you happen to live in a country where people vote on how that government does things, should they not be voting?

  Now here is a real contradiction.....

  As the bible says, it's impossible to get outside of the world. You can't be fully no part of the world. You must live somewhere. Voting is to make choices on things that affect where you live.

  The GB and the WT society practice voting, board meetings, GB meetings, and legal requirements, etc. They are voting on things that impact the society, where they live. Yet it's not okay for people to vote on things that impact where they live?

  And how do they come up with voting means putting your faith in man? If you vote for John Schmuck because you like his plan to build a city park, is the WT saying that God said he had plans to immediately do something else or build a library there and you are choosing John Schmuck over God? Didn't the GB say God put the governments in place to manage things for now?

  I wonder, has anybody been disfellowshipped for voting in a homeowner's assocation? They live in a community, they vote for who runs and what is done to that community. Or in a company they own? What is the difference when it's a city wide, then statewide, then nationwide vote?

  Even while I was in it didn't really make sense to me.

  Question for Atheists.. Did you gain a Greater Sense of Morality and Happiness?

  i've heard some view points that state, atheists are generally more moral & caring for fellow humans, than are theists.. i'd like to hear some personal stories of life changes and quality of life after you became atheist.

  i have a simple theory that may explain this.. i'll explain my theory if you'd like, after a few responses, as i really am interested in the personal changes that you experienced.. thank you very much, and i look forward to your stories..

  The book of Enoch is amazing!

  I had read in the book of Genesis through hebrew interlinear and noting many words and phrases that are cut out in all english translations. I noticed that it's because the translators are assuming what the message was and not wanting it to sound confusing. But what they did in a sense is comparable to taking all the symbolism in the book of revelation and translating it to a literal story with all real world literal events that has absolutely nothing symbolic.

  When I had done that though, reading the book of Genesis and seeing a very clear and consistant alternate version that is all symbolic and not literal, it could have been coincidence. Then I read about the creation in the book of Enoch and the levels of heaven and it aligned with the symbolic explanation from Genesis.

  Catching up after putting life on hold while a JW.....

  it's only been a couple of years since i fully woke up to ttatt.

  although it's....almost never too late to turn your life around, definitely the older you are, the harder it will be.

  i had put marriage, school, traveling, and 'worldly goals' aside because the end was 'just around the corner' and those things shouldn't be pursued.

  Thank you for the responses. Yes I agree Wasanelder. Everyone is taught not to prepare for dying of old age.

  What helped me and what my mindset after learning TTATT was like this......

  1. First seeking answers and discovering my own faith.

  2. WHILE doing that, I thought to myself, "Okay, I just may be living here until I die of old age, so instead of waiting and having life on hold until the end, if I am going to die of old age, what do I want to do, what do I want to accomplish, what do I want my financial situation to be, etc, and with the time left?" Then I did a lot of research into how to do those things and accomplish those goals I wanted and went at it.

  It may not be easy either. With family, friends, etc, and some married, etc. Then you need to consider if they are unwilling to be flexible, if you do things that allow them to be in full contact/etc between now and the end of your life will you be happier having done that or made your own choices even if it means they will keep you mostly out of their life?

  Another important thing! Consider the amount of time left and what you may sacrifice. It's great if you can keep good family connections. If you in a situation where it's pretending to be a jw or lose parents, if pretending to be a jw means you don't ever do anything you want and you end up in poverty, you may have two choices. Choice A - when they have died and you have years remaining you are happy you had that time with them even though most opportunities are lost to you now. Choice B - Even though sad you missed out on family, all other aspects of your life are fullfilling and you started your own family.

  For example, there is a school for single pioneer brothers called the Bible School for Single Brothers, and for married pioneers there is the Bible School for Christian Couples. All these schools help us to obey our heavenly Master, Jehovah. the governing body.

  It's only been a couple of years since I fully woke up to TTATT. Although it's....almost never too late to turn your life around, definitely the older you are, the harder it will be.

  I had put marriage, school, traveling, and 'worldly goals' aside because the end was 'just around the corner' and those things shouldn't be pursued. I was just about 30 when I really started to wake up. In just a few years I've done extensive traveling, engaged, on a path to getting a degree, and a path to being financially secure and wealthy. I'm just glad not a moment more of time went by and that I'll be able to salvage a big chunk of the rest of my life to not being wasted.

  INTJ bordering ENTJ.

  I suppose it makes sense for quite a few of the so called rare INTJ's on this forum. For me it was my deep thinking, problem solving, analytical nature that woke me up to TTATT.

  going by the oldest verified by birth cert living person is 115 years old, in 15 years not only will not "millions now living will never die(1914)" be untrue, but even 1 single person now living will never die will be out.

  i wonder what the spin will be then w/ the wt.
