Is their any evidence/proof that the G.B.enjoy first class flights accomodation in their travels ?

i`m just curious about the travel arrangements of the g.b.members when they travel overseas to conventions in europe , africa , australia , etc.. is their any verifiable documents /receipts etc.

that prove they stay in the most up market hotels , or fly first class in planes ?, being treated like v.i.p.`s ?.

no human being is exempt from the temptations of abusing his power or position of authourity , especially when big money is involved , and the g.b.

One of my parents was a friend of Daniel Sydlik and would always visit when at Bethel and keep in contact on phone atleast once or twice a year. I remember as a kid they told me how he was telling them about how when they are traveling all over the world for meetings and such how they enjoy first class and drive around in fancy cars, etc. I remember that because even though I was very young, I understood enough of the teachings for that to raise a red flag in my mind as not right and sounding contrary to the humble and not wasting donations, etc.

I don't know about the GB today but atleast in the 80's/90's the GB of Sydliks time it seems kept the bar close to what it was for their lifestyle as when Rutherford was president. Can you imagine after Knorr took over if he would just quit the lavish lifestyle Rutherford let his close associates have?

It would be great if it was possible to have the GB members tailed for several months to see what they do.

But the society has many companies, they can't claim all the other corporations are church too, so people should be able to dig up info on the other companies as well I'm thinking.

" the thought occurred to me the other day - the wt scam rakes in billions of dollars, and yeah some of that goes to operations and equipment.

but bethelites at farm and factory get only a bare little dorm room and a monthly pittance.

Ever heard of charities where 99% of donations go towards the marketing firm who happens to be owned by the president of the charity? In which case diverting the charitable money to himself?

There are millionaires in the org due to being the suppliers of materials, or contractors, or hall remodelers, etc. Also the GB get to do first class everything, travel the world, etc. There are many who are profiting.

Just goes to show how hypocritical the whole religion is and it's just getting worse. They broke so many rules, wasting time practicing for music/dancing, not being serious in the kingdomhall, playing worldly music in the kingdomhall, having it loud, etc. It's NOT okay if it's for your own party at your own house, for a wedding, or any other event. But it IS okay if the GB says it is for their own purposes.

It's not only at the convention, in this thread are 2 videos of them dancing to worldly music in the kingdomhalls! Towards the end of the first video they all jump up and the whole kingdomhall is going Pentecostal!

I would like to quote from the 5/1/2000 WT about weddings and music and compare that with this video that was posted......

"THE wedding started with a marriage talk given in a community hall in Soweto. Then a choir of Christian youths sang songs of praise to God in four-part harmony. Next, the guests enjoyed a meal while a music tape of Kingdom melodies played softly in the background. No alcoholic beverages were served, and there was no loud music or dancing. Instead, the guests enjoyed associating together and congratulating the couple........

Interestingly, however, the Bible does not specifically refer to music and dancing at the wedding in Cana. In fact, dancing is not referred to in any of the Bible accounts of weddings. It would appear that among God’s faithful servants of Bible times, dancing was incidental and not the main feature of their weddings. Can we learn anything from this?...........

Now after reading that article, can you imagine that "for months an inordinate amount of time" was used for them to learn those loud worldly songs? Shouldn't they have instead been 'buying out the time' for 'more important things' such as field service?

BOTR - freedom of religion has LIMITS. Hurting people, child abuse, and any other number of things if they were part of a religious belief would NOT be allowed and congress wouldn't say, 'well we gotta let them do it because of freedom of religion'.

Some of the things may be overstepping the boundries of what freedom of religion allows.

Another key point.....when lawsuits and things of a religion get to court, many things depend on the churches doctrine and teaching and if they violate what they themselves have said. Here is something that should have viable grounds for government intervention.........anybody with access to a computer can bring up tons of articles and FAQ's of the WT saying members who leave are not shunned, family is family no matter what, etc, then at the same time showing articles done at the same time or shortly before/after that say you must shun family and not even email them, etc. So it would be easy to show to the courts how the WT prints and teaches doctrine to new converts and interested ones, and has exact opposite doctrine that is enforced to members. A major bait and switch. Nobody has challenged this yet. Courts have said with churches they may have little power against the church doctrine but since the WT has everything in print, I can see how they would have power against the WT for having a double doctrine.
