so at the assembly to day that nitwit lett gave a talk....i noticed right away he had a pinky ring.

i asked my wife what was the purpose of the pinky ring?

I agree with you on the pinky ring thing.
Moreover I brazenly throw a fart @Nicolau's general direction for daring to give what I deem a most idiotic and inane word of counsel.
Let's see how i piss her off tomorrow.
Ask her if after this Convention she's still going to buy ice-cream or give the ice-cream money to buy the Lett dude a matching pinky ring for the other hand.
Why should you antagonize your wife with negative comments about the WT? Because not to do it sets the line way back, and the more so, the stronger the WT's hold will be over your life, to cramp you into paralysis.
She needs to know you love her but you hate the cult for the hypocrisy they show. Keep showing her love and affection for the person she is, not for the slave of the Gobbering Body she let's her selfbe.
Keep reminding her every time there's such an obvious show of hypocrisy like wearing pinky rings but telling kids to hand over their ice-cream money.

so ofs was at the wt this morning, and on par.

14 the question was, "what trust can a faithful christian whose relative is disfellowshipped have?".

after awhile when no one else raised their hands ofs did, and was called on.. ofs commented, "one of jw can have the trust that god will lovingly give them the ability to uphold the disfellowshipping arrangement by totally shunning family members.".

"Gerson Therapy" in Tijuana, Mexico

since at least back to the 1960s in canada, jws have been travelling to mexico for cancer treatment.

and, i believe, other medical treatments.

because i watched my uncle die of cancer back in 1962, unable to receive treatment because the doctors couldn't operate without blood, i have always been curious as to why the jws with cancer were going to mexico.

I've known three Witnesses who went to Mexico to treat their cancer with this nonsense, all died within a year of their refusal to go the usual radiation treatments followed by chemotherapy.
The Witness religious culture breeds mistrust for science and medicine, preferring the sensationalized pseudo-scientific cure claims of quackery. Elders are right there of course to aid in the making of wills to leave money and assets to the WT.

I doubt it. How often have you heard the charge against the WT that they've sidelined Jesus? This convention seems to me like it was a reaction to that charge.
They are reactive. They make changes because they have to, because it's profitable for them. Not, because it may be living true to calling themselves Christian. That would be proactive.
