Clip of shocking testimony from Day 2 of the Royal Commission hearing
by cappytan ini posted this as a reply to another thread, but thought it deserved it's own thread to draw attention to this important moment in the day 2 testimony.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zl4fobrocc8.

I felt bad that he was made to squirm. But when I look at the blonde in the background and see her facial expressions of disapproval and disbelief at what the elder is saying I just have to laugh! It's hitting him now, he's never had to reason how the WT with its policies care little about victims of abuse. -

Australian hearings on JW.org child abuse featured on CNN
by Simon injust about to start on next segment ...

I thought it very interesting that the photo chosen for the CNN news feature on the Australian Royal Commission's looking into the JW pedophile affair is that of a young man looking at a WT article entitled:
"WHO REALLY IS THE FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE?"
Who really should be held accountable for setting up the doctrinal procedures? None other than the Gobbering Body who claims they and only they are the "Faithful and discreet slave."

Sad about the past
by Gorbatchov intoday i feel deep sad memories in my brain.. visiting bookstudy with my parents, doing my best giving answers at 7 years old.. doing fieldservice every weekend and on an evening.. i could write so much story's about it.. we believed from our hart and listened to what the organisation told us.. it makes me sad, what a scam it became.. today i can't stand it.. i can cry about it.

I know how you feel Gorby, I used to miss the fun with the bookstudy crowd after the meeting and sharing goodies and stories. But mostly now I'm just disgusted, ever more so as the GB 2.0 continues their brazen money grab and rebranding efforts, throwing the older folks aside now that they're little use or profit for them. They're a bunch of corporate inhuman jerks, and that makes the all the sadness turn to anger. -

Did the Governing Body sucessfully fend off this bad news on thier TV Broadcast??
by Wasanelder Once inremember there was a talk about not listening to "false stories" about sexual abuse from apostates on jw's fantasy station?
did the governing body put it out there as preemptive damage control because they knew this was coming?
they must have had subpoenas giving them a heads up.

You betcha they knew it was coming.
Some JW zombies were on Facebook saying how we shouldn't pay attention to the lies on the news and that we were already warned this was going to happen.
I'm sure there were a lot of excited calls and emails going back and forth between Crooklyn and the Aussie Branch over the Royal Commission's taking a peek in their dirty laundry file cabinet.

Horrible Bosses
by John Aquila ini just heard this a few minutes ago by a jw friend who is still an elder in my old hall.
the kingdom hall i used to attend and my mom still attends was paid off many years ago and serves about 6 congregations.
one of the english congregations has a lot of financially well of members.

I bet those poor Elders are ready to either 1.) shoot themselves or 2.) shoot the C.O.
You forgot number 3---shoot the wife who sided with the Watchtower.
And/or #4 bring a concealed into Crooklyn and take care of the GB on a Wednesday when they have their pow-wow.

Does the royal commission have the power to force the Jws to change how abuse is handled?
by hoser ini'm wondering if this is just a hearing or if this commission has teeth?.
some very damning things coming out nonetheless .

I can see the WT throwing elders under the bus and blaming them for mishandling sexual child abuse cases, making it appear to the rant & file that the Organization didn't share blame. Sort of like a 1975-we-didn't-say-that situation. I think the vast majority will just go along and parrot the idea firmly convinced that the JW religion is God's organization but it's some imperfect men/elders who mishandled cases, and that now they know better and have been corrected.
The WT hierarchy is quite slippery and slimy knowing how to avoid blame.

Governing body deceiving members on purpose?
by wwjdnwt ini was born into this religion.
i was a jw for well over 30 years.
i did much research before i had internet, i compared bibles and prayed deeply to help me to know if this was the truth.

Does a CEO of a fortune 500 company believe in their corporation? I think it's pretty much the same with the Gobbering Body of the JW religion. They force themselves to throw aside doubts and nagging thoughts from their minds that what they're preaching, what they're selling, is no better and sometimes worse than other competing organizations.
I think Rutherford was a megalomaniac, and a psychopathic narcissist, but I doubt the current GB would consider braking away from Rutherford's wacky doctrines. It would be nice if they could see the error and cultishness that is rampant in their religion, sort of what took place with the Worldwide Church of God (Armstrong). It takes integrity and conscience to make changes like that.
