JWFreak, any clues as to said book's content? It must have been quite the hot potato.

Not a buddhist but respect the wisdom contained therein. Many principles parallel those of Christianity, esp. the aversion to aggression. There is something to be said for giving up control, which is also what Christ preached to a degree (i.e. surrender, trust in Him/God/higher power).

SBF: Last I heard it was strongly rumored that there was a split GB decision regarding whether to release an actual new "book" (rather than just a brochure and revised YPA). No confirmation yet so far as we know but anyone here with updates should please feel free to revise my assessment.

Given up on demonizing the Internet? Have you read the 7/15 WT, what with the infamous "LAN cable snake" and the "Satan/Eve" chat room?

Are more long standing JW's leaving?
by cantleave inat one time, it seemed that the majority of those leaving, were young ones brought up in the cult.. from what i can see now (at least on here), there seems to be a high number of 20+ baptised members years leaving.. has this always been the case?
it might be i just didn't notice from my parochial view from the kingdom hall!.
or are there really more long standing jw's leaving now, than ever before?.

Yeah, the "toes" No Light is something straight out of Monty Python, or, better yet... wait for it... Fawlty Towers!

I would imagine some "long standing" JWs (read: elderly) are getting fed up with the comparatively young punks on the GB denigrating them.

Governing Body Represents Who?
by Marvin Shilmer ingoverning body represents who?.
today i uploaded a new article to my blog examining the veracity of watchtowers claim to represent all the anointed ones on earth.
there is gigantic absurdity that to this day watchtower leaves unexplained, except to contradict itself.

When was the last QFR that ackowledged the legitimacy of a doubt that was raised?
When was the last time a reader received the reply, "Thank you to all our dear anointed brothers who continue to challenge us with intelligent and valid questions, we will prayerfully take your words into consideration?"

a CLEAR view is only possible if you can change your position
by Terry inthere is a better way to see things clearly.
because those men spoke in the past.. we can change our position because we are in their future!.
apostacy is a changing of one's position.

No doubt. The problem is, when you acknowledge "apostasy" as a potentially GOOD thing that allows you to point up the falsehoods of the previous era, the WT will just smile and say something like, "It's true that Jehovah's direction was not fully discerned in the past, but His organization is progressive. We've abandoned previous false understandings as His chariot is continually on the move." Ta da. Their apostasy is just as valid in the mind of John Q. Dub.
Whatta ya gonna do? Maybe we should just say we're the guys at the finish line holding the checkered flag, eagerly awaiting the Chariot's arrival since we know it'll come in first anyways.

Ban Facebook and you might as well ban the Internet (as I'm sure they wish they could). They're practically synonomous anymore.
