When did the "tag team" generation start?

that seems to be the impression that most people are getting from the recent change in understanding.

however, the recent watchtower article seems to contain some contradictions.

here is a quote:.

Notice the weasel words, "We cannot measure the exact length" of a generation. Therefore, a "generation" could be the old standby, 70-80 years, or it could be literally a matter of a few decades, even a few years! So if "the generation" of current "anointed" overlaps the lives of the "anointed" who saw "the sign" in 1914, according to the above elastic definition, it could be as soon as tomorrow, or it could be as far off as (1914 + 80 + 80 =) 2074.

My guess is that more than a few JWs will do the mental calculations and realize they're just too damned tired to make it that far. Expect the number of partakers to rise, more lifers to cool off, more young ones to wake up to the BS they're being served, and more of those who stay in to put off pioneering for college.

We should start a mass letter-writing campaign to the WT to put IN WRITING in their responses, EXACTLY what the hell the "generation" REALLY means. Then we could compare responses and we'd have something (hopefully) that would stick legally. That way when our poor loved ones can't make head or tails of this nonsense, we could show them our letter and say, "Here's the official position, straight from the horse's mouth". A possible explanation for the new "Generation" understanding

holy crap, i just realized something!.

could it be that the unusually quickly-replaced "new light" came about as a result of the wt's last explanation unintentionally matching generation 2, then changing it again once they (and countless folks on the internet) figured out it was the same explanation, to save face?.

i mean, is it possible the gb made up the last "new light" completely unaware that it matched the 1927 explanation, then changed it in an oh-shit moment when they realized not long after that they'd already used that one?.

Ideas for spinning the change in 'generation' for maximum impact?

the change in the definition of 'generation' is the first major doctrinal change in the time i has been involved with the jehovahs witnesses (allmost a full year!

), and i personally find it pretty exciting since many hear has talked about how the other changes (like the 95 one) caused the first weak wtf moments.. what i wonder about now is how (if?

) one should discuss this topic with active jehovahs witnesses for maximal effect - so to our resident mind-control gurus: what are your plans?.

I mean, think about it, folks.

Can you possibly imagine the prospect of poor Joe Dub attempting to defend this in field service? When the WT doesn't even give any rationale for it?

I believe this will be the tipping point for many who have doubts. I'm sure many will read this insult and think, "OK. It's officially time to move on."

With this one piece of New Light and utter lack of attempt to reasonably defend it, the WT, IMHO, has officially confirmed: 1) We're out of ideas, 2) We don't care anymore, and 3) We're not even going to try.

It's like the ultimate "Fuck You" to Jehovah, Jesus, and all the decent JWs out there.

Brace for impact.
