the wts sometimes turns the "stumbling" concept into a manipulative weapon.. the biblical concept of "stumbling" is that if you know someone else has a weakness you shouldn't do something that will cause him to cave in to that weakness.

for example, if you have a friend who is trying to fight alcohol addiction you shouldn't invite him to go somewhere where everyone else will be imbibing.. i think it's perfectly legitimate for a friend to tell you that he has a drinking problem and that he'd really appreciate it if you would refrain from serving alcohol while he's over.

but i think it crosses a line if the friend tries to manipulate you into swearing off alcohol altogether because the mere thought of you drinking booze will stumble him.. but some jws try to get others to refrain from doing things "so you don't stumble me.

I've said before and truly feel that this religion is ONLY about appearance and show. Anything that the WT concedes is a 'conscience matter' is not about the individual making a personal choice, it's about the conscience of the individuals in the congregation who are most likely to get stumbled by your conscience and everyone MUST take into consideration everyone else's conscience in the said 'conscience matter'. What a joke...

I was once counseled by an elder to not sit with a single brother in the hall because 'some people' are wondering what the nature of our relationship was. I told the elder to tell those people to mind their own business and that maybe they need counselling on meddling and gossip. He insisted that unless we're seriously dating or engaged, we have no business sitting together. I just looked at him and asked where may I please find this in the bible...he kinda left me alone after that but it also put a kink in a perfectly innocent situation, and made me and my friend uncomfortable to just sit and enjoy one another's company at the hall. grrrrr.

have anyone of you read, the absolutly jaw dropping paragraph in this article about a women who was hit by her husband?

its in page 25 of the 2/15/12 wt study edition (i read the dumbed down version).. .

if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?

how did those whale bones get into the atacama desert, if you have been there, it is a barren wasteland.

i belive it might have been caused by the flood, but again i am one who belives in god.

what do you think of this find, jesus or non-intelligence?

ummm these whale bones were found only a half a mile inland from the current seashore...does anyone actually believe that the ocean hasn't risen and fallen and shorelines changed over the past oh 10 million years or so?

Seems like a manufactured controversy to me...but it'll be interesting for study because they say that the bones are really well preserved.
