Are major earthquakes on the increase??
by Vanderhoven7 ina jw writes as proof that 1914 is key.... the newencyclopdiabritannica (1987) lists 63 major historical earthquakes spanning the past 1,700 years.
of this total, 27, or 43 percent, have struck since 1914. the book terranonfirma, by professors gere and shah, has a list covering a longer period.
of the total significant earthquakes in that list, 54 percent have taken place since 1914. even granting that records from past centuries are incomplete, we cannot escape the conclusion that in our time mankind has been greatly affected by earthquakes.. does anyone have access to the the newencyclopdiabritannica (1987) or info that would either support or refute the above allegations.. .

Why I Hate Religion
by Christ Alone ini know this is a few months old.
but i think it's profound to people that still think like the wt trained them to think.
even after coming out of the wt, they still feel that all christians believe that they alone have the true religion or denomination.

But when you come out of darkness in accepting Jesus as your personal savior then the Holy Spirit Himself begins to teach you.
Savior from what?
PS - Nancy, I never thought you were Alice either. You're the good kind of crazy.

who would invent a JW wife? Nobody jokes about that, it's like joking about impotence.

Botch, it happens both ways. Start a thread on Atheism and watch the believers pile in. It's normal - these are polarizing topics and people have strong opinions about them. Have you been to any political threads? Kinda the same thing goes on there...

Is this board meant for athiests only?
seems like any post nowadays thats regarding faith or religion, all the athiests come out the woodworks and fuck the thread up.
Seems to me that if you're so comfortable with your faith, you wouldn't mind questions about it. I think you're forgetting that most (if not all) of us who no longer believe came from a place where we DID believe and believed strongly. Coming out of a religion where you're punished for thinking for yourself lends itself to questioning everything. And once that starts, it's hard to stop. And every thread that's started about Atheism gets the believers going too - it makes for interesting discussions, don't you think?

Nice post up there. I agree 100% with your assessment of the GB being viewed as inspired by JW's, even though they say the opposite. Actions speak louder than words etc...
There is no work that I can do to earn salvation. And there is no work that I can do that can lose my salvation either.
Salvation from what?

Speaking of marbles...be on the lookout for STT's. It would appear she's lost some.
