I wish that I could really sit down with them and go through the years of the history of the Watchtower Society. I wish that I could spare them the years of capitivity that they are and will continue to experience.
I have empathy for them because I too was once like them.
I am talking about the rank and file, the individuals who are reaching out for that "Carrot." I have no compassion for those in positions of power and abuse their positions knowing full well what they are doing.

the whole wt yesterday, which was supposed to be about love, actually centered on how we should react to 'persecutors'.
it was horrible to hear the audience comments...calling 'worldly people' everything from 'they are unkind and mean' to them being 'hateful and unneighborly'.
i sat there and thought about how this 'us vs. them' mentality is the very thing that is contributing to the divisive and separatist world we live in.
Hi Walk Tall! When they are willing to shun and break up their own families, it shoud come as no surprise that they would behave this way toward the world.
They do not have the Christlike personality, as this Watchtower lesson demonstrated.
And remember this study article is not for the public, it is for the rank and file only.

there are a few bible verses i'm going to discuss that probably don't bother anyone but me.
in fact, most people, including ex-dubs think they are wonderful verses.
i think they are really, really creepy verses.
Farkel, This has been my thinking for years. How can you even make friends with someone you don't know? Don't you have to be introduced first and then it would take some time to get to know this person? How could you not even meet this person and someone else tells you that he commands you to love him upon pain of suffering?
Those "Two Greatest Commandments" were not written or quoted from a loving personality. It was some translaters who thought of this and then want us to believe that Jesus made that statement concerning a God who nobody knows. That is why I don't believe that God inspired any of the things written in that book called "The Holy Bible". Its all the doing of controlling groups of men down through the ages.

another way of saying this would be...stop thinking and listen to us.
this is something that i am having a really tough time with and have spoken to the elders about several times.
it would seem to make sense that i would be able to get reasonable answers to some questions, and if not they could at least be honest and say "i don't know".

our odd body of elders would not allow the one person who wanted to mow the lawn at the kingdom hall to do this because he was not getting 10 hours in a month, he was only getting in 7. seriously.. were you ever told you couldn't have a "privilege" because you didn't measure up to their lofty standards?.
When you are a parent, they use your children against you to hold you back from having privileges.
I loved my children more than having privileges.

the last 3 weekends have seen 3 circuit assemblies in victoria with over 1000 attending each circuit.
yet only 10 baptised over the last 3 weeks, including 3 last weekend.
i can remember a few years ago when only 1 bro was baptised at a 2 day convention.. its funny, when 10-20 were being baptised at each circuit assembly back in the 1980s & early 90s it was always brought out that this was a sign of jehovahs blessing upon the org.
