Upcoming District Convention Talk/New Release

For those who researched 607...
by AwSnap indid you use wt dates as well as things found from a secular perspective?
if a witness was researching the 607 dates strictly from watchtower info, would it still become clear they are wrong?
or does the wtbs *make* the dates add up...?

Hi Aw Snap! Very rarely will you find the wtbs not support what it writes even if they have to omit historical information that is accepted by historical research from historians. So, when you research wtbs literature on 607, you find that it is supported by their findings, you will not find it not supported.
Sidebar: However when you go out side the wtbs research and research other unbias historians who do not have an agender to support, you will find that the wtbs is in error in their conclusions about how they arrive at 607.
Once 607 falls so does 1914 and 1919.
I answered your question in the first paragraph,the other two are separate issues to consider.

1975 - 2010
by core inseems so long ago, 1975, lots happened to us all since but not the promised big a and a new system - what we get now is bethelites made redundant, no sign of a promise fulfilled, and yet millions still adhere to the wt.
and still in front of us is 2014 - how will; the wt big that up'.
1975 has been made redundant like hundreds of bethelites - as far as i know the year has not been mentioned for - well 35 years now.

i never was a big fan of the show, probably because it was on a meeting night, but it was a very popular show.. i loved hill street blues, taxi, all in the family, the rifleman, even superman!
i wished those shows never stopped!.

I Have a New Method for Dealing With Ridiculous Assumptions
by AllTimeJeff inmy one disclaimer is this: to my theistic friends, i am not saying the following to be disrespectful of your beliefs.
however, since i don't believe as you all do, it is only honest of me to present this.. i bring this up because i have been caught up lately in debates that i normally don't involve myself in.
i have been left a little drained and confused as to why i allowed myself to argue a point till its beaten to a bloody pulp.

Lately I have been using Minimus's tact, asking questions like how, why, where ,what and when. It just drives them crazy.
They quote some scripture and I ask How do you know that it's true and has not been tampered with? Why do you believe that? When was that written? How do you know? Where and when was the bible put together and by whom? etc.
Remember, how we were taught to overcome "Conversation Stoppers" well, AllTimeJeff, Here is a whole bunch of them conversation stoppers I just posted.

Last Nights Mtg. "Demonstrate Personal Interest" (New Bible Students Beware)
by WalkTall insometimes it just hits you how cold and unfeeling this religious corporation is.. last night there was a part in the kingdom ministry about helping new bible studies.
in one paragraph it mentioned how the new student might cut ties with former associates because they are not living by bible principles.
it says that their families might disown them.
