thank you for the additional clarification. It is always interesting to get the perspective of an outsider to the events and also to find out what the lawyer felt was the main purpose of the case. The societies efforts to spin the events for their own ends means that this information is needed so that we are not sucked into their agenda.

for the most part, i've written this article because i found much of what candace and rick had to say intriguing to say the least.

I left the Witnesses over 10 years ago, but finally went back
by JakeMarley inthe entire time i was gone it was nagging at me.
i hadn't been previously baptized, so leaving wasn't that big a deal.
now i'm back in the swing of it, going to all meetings and field service.

Who On This Site Would You Like To Meet?
by minimus inthere are a lot of interesting people that frequent this site.. sometimes, we get an idea of what the posters are really like in "real life".
and i'm sure i could be easily surprised by some that you think might be strong personalities because of their board presence, and in reality, they might be shy in a face to face setting.. i would enjoy meeting simon.
simon used to be terribly annoyed by my posting and now i think he's accepted with tolerance my being here.. farkel seems like a grouchy cantankerous fellow but i think he'd be very interesting company!.

There are so many people I would love to meet. One of these years I hope to make it to the lake Tahoe Apostafest. Mr and Mrs Flipper, Mrs Jones all seem to have such a great time.
I have been delighted by all the fabulous people I have come to know over the last couple of years and look forward to getting to know many others.

It was the creator of Peter Pan, Barrie who donated money to great Ormond Street Hospital.
I thought there were many high points, the transformation into the industrial revolution and the forging of the rings, the doves of peace, the cauldron, the fireworks.
I also liked the inventor of the WWW and creator of the first web site. Very funny especially after Mr Romney saying that the Brits don't make things people want.
I loved the chaos and quirkiness of it but then as a Brit it was all about me and my culture.

Not Breaking News: Jehovahs Witness Won in Court Over Medicaid Coverage
by Scott77 insorry, old news but is typical watchtower society ofjehovahs witnesses as they face life and death events.
i think, they want to die as martyrs.
jehovahs witness qualifies for coverage, but too late for transplantby brad cooperthe kansas city starmary stinemetz beat the state in a precedent-setting religious freedom case, but shes losing the battle against a chronic liver disease.. stinemetz is terminally ill after she was unable to get a liver transplant even though she won a legal battle that forced the state to honor her faith and pay for an out-of-state liver transplant.. no one can say for sure how much time she has left.. anything can happen at any minute, stinemetzs husband, merlyn, said tuesday.

If she had this condition for so long why didn't she move sooner to a place where she could have a better chance of bloodless surgery. It frustrates me that these people hold an extreme view and then do not help themselves. The faith teaches indolence not pro activity with the thought that things will be better at some point in the future. Life is so precious and our time so brief it should not be squandered.

The Jackson Family Circus -or- WE know whats really going on with Katherine Jackson vs her kids...
by Unlearn inso, i dont know if this has been posted/addressed here...but watching this whole jackson family thing play out in the public eye is surreal.. the press assume that the only reason mj's brothers and janet are contesting his will and want control of the kids, is money.. seriously...mj's bros and sisters dont need his money: his bros get paid everytime you hear a jackson 5 song.
they're all millionaires.. janet is loaded.
but, the media doesnt know what we know...so they assume that the only reason they'd want mj's kids is for the $$$$ that come along with them as part of the deal.. we know better.. i believe a big amount of respect is due to janet and jermaine and the rest of the gang...theyre trying to rescue those kids from a jw brainwashing fate.. i'd bet money on it.. they say janet was trying to convince paris to willingly leave her grandmothers home and come with them.. im telling you...they're trying to save those kids.. and as any of you who have close family still in the cult can attest to, we apostates are some of the most loving, long-suffering people on the planet...as many of us publicly hold our tongues repeatedly when it comes to that cult, because we dont want to hurt mom, or dad, or kids, or siblings.

Quick, the elders are coming to the house! Hide that!
by bronzefist inwhat did you have to hide from the elder's sight if they came to your house?.
-

When we were fading the only thing we had to hide were our opinions. We were used to elders visiting and making themselves at home and wandering around the downstairs as we had always made an effort to make them feel welcome. It was the absence of literature that we had to explain since the pictures freaked out our son and gave him nightmares.

Crisis of Conscience, Apostacy and the Antichrist
by konceptual99 ini've just finished reading coc and it's truely a thought provoking book that's given me much to think about.. one thing that has struck me is the way rf was disfellowshipped and how he tried to reason with the elders on the jc.
a key point of reasoning was that how the elders could define the disassocated one he ate with as "the antichrist" or one practicing the things described in 1 cor 9. apparently the elders either remain silent on the matter or said it was not for them to judge.. i thought the reasoning was really sound but i have been doing some checking on the definition of apostacy and the antichrist according to the society and it seems pretty clear to me that anyone guilt of apostacy becomes part of the antichrist.
characteristics of apostacy as defined in the it-1 book are described as follows:.

Remember that the Bible was writen about specific people at a specific time. The organisation would take the place of the early congregation and thus state that anyone rejecting their viewpoint is an apostate. However you have to test this claim since if they are not Gods representatives then they are in no place to judge on others.
Nothing is as it seems and every assumption should be tested.
