Is this true? Are all blu Ray players subject to software updates?
I know this is a religious board but I trust your judgement and don't trust Sharp at all.

i knew a sister who would have made a wonderfull mum and wife
by looloo inbut she is now 45 , and has spent all her life sticking to the societys policy of only marrying in the "the truth" i saw her looking at my new baby with such longing and she said her baby would look just like her she was sure !
she has seen all her friends and younger sisters marry and have babys , i dont think she could cope if she knew the sacrifices she has made for the cult were all in vain , i also knew a lady of 86 who was very sweet and "mumsy" i asked why she had no children , she said she was waiting for the "new system" she died at 87 !.

There are many sisters who wait and wait to get married and some eventually find Mr Right. There are also many who marry in haste and live with regret. What is sad is when people find the right person but reject them because of religious obligation. In life there are no certainties and a life of regret is a hard road.
My heart goes out to those couples and singles who dedicated their whole life to Jehovah because the end was coming soon and in the new order they would get the spouse they dreamed of and the children they longed for. Some of these died because the end wasn't coming as promised and at the end there was no hope of children or spouse since they were told that resurrected ones wouldn't be married. There are some now with the new change in generation ,coming to the realisation that they have not just postponed something precious but lost it forever.
When will the society change the record and free it's followers of the obligation to put off children and marriage? It works against their policy of reaping the bennefits when older ones die childless but it would be an act of humanity.

How miserable are Witless Kids REALLY?
by hamsterbait in25 years ago i lived in an apartment overlooking the grounds of the local high school.. at the time i still totally believed the lie.
a lot of the dub students went to my hell.. i noticed looking out my window, that the witless kids always looked miserable and isolated.
yet in the kingdumb hell they would behave almost euphorically.. what was going on?.

In school the religon makes you prey, your life is full of don'ts that serve to exclude and isolate you. How can you fit in when you are constantly reminding your peer group that you are different. Human beings are social beings and it is no wonder JW kids look miserable, no one really wants to be out of the group.
At meetings they constantly get praise for being different and enduring persecution at school. They are told that here they fit in and are part of the group. It is a very clever control technique.

Aussie it is a shame that those who know us the best are the ones that cause us the most pain. Keep with it, in the future you will have solid proof of how hard you fought for your children. After all it is their well being that is important. Later in life they will be able to make their own choices what ever happens now so it will be important to them that you didn't give up on them whatever their mother says and does in the here and now. These bad things do have a habit of back firing in the long term.

***Surgery was a success***
by babygirl30 inhey everyone!

I am glad the surgery worked out well and despite their faults your parents did their best. It was great that your mum had the chance to talk to you. Don't feel to bad at the begging after all that was pretty much a given and a way of justifying the visit to the cult. She loves you in her cultish way.
This is your time to think about you and be waited on it may never happen again.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Photo-Drama of Creation - the movie
by Mickey mouse inthis was an impressive piece of work and well worth watching for a number of reasons, not least of which:.
1. it was cutting edge technology of the time.. 2. it shows what the jws (or rather bible students) believed at the time they were picked by jesus as the one true religion.
a few of my personal highlights:.

We had it on DVD but could never play it so it was fascinating to watch.

Blood Card
by bazackward inplease forgive my ignorance, but what is contained in a "blood card?
" i am sure it has something to do with the whole not accepting blood policy.
apparently there are two names with contact numbers on it.

Its not a heinous crime it is family politics. Simply put your grandmother does not want to explain to your aunt why she is not the primary contact and why she has chosen a non JW in preference to her. She is hoping that she never has to explain this because your Aunt is likely to feel snubbed and rejected and will behave badly. It will be embarassing for all concerned and best avoided.
