a heartbreaking 1-0 loss this morning.
i've been up since 4am watching the match.
germany wore us down with their crisp passing and hard play.
I always disliked watching basketball until this year. When my local team (the kings) made a run in the playoffs I started watching and by learning some of the strategy involved I found I enjoyed the game much more.
I think soccer would be the same if I could just understand the strategy of the game maybe I would see the action on the field. As it stands right now I really cant see any strategy in the game it just seems that the fastest running team wins. I know thats not the case its just how it appears to me with my lack of understanding. Now the sport I know best, American football, is filled with strategy; it starts with what players are on the field, then the formations also play a hand, finally after the snap who goes where and who defends whom honestly American football is a chess game.

The self righteousness of these people amazes me.
I think the viewpoint that witnesses have regarding modern medicine was the beginning of my ascent out of the organization. I come from a family that has a medical background (Four RNs, sister getting doctorate and teaches at university) when the blood brochure came out in the early 90s I was reading it with some of my co-religionist and saw a mistake. I dont remember what the mistake was if I had the brochure I could find it but I brought up to everyone in the room that a point in the article was not exactly true. As you can imagine I became very popular after that. I think thats was when some of the first doubts started to enter my mind. Not because there was a logical flaw in the brochure but because of the reaction of everyone in the room, basically anger.

palestinian kills 5 in west bank settlement three days of attacks kill 31 israelis .

paramedics evacuate an israeli soldier thursday after a palestinian gunman wounded him in the itamar settlement.
I always wondered why the Palestinians target civilians. I think they are just hurting their cause. As an American I have much more respect for people that fight a guerrilla war and target the other sides military units, but by attacking moms and kids it just makes me think these people are murderous thugs.
Oh well I wonder if this things every going to end. I did read someones solution in the paper the other day. What the author was suggesting was that the area would be split into two separate countries along the lines suggested by Clinton. The Palestinians would have no right of return but would be monetarily compensated by Israel (read USA ). Jerusalem would be governed by both countries via a council. Not a perfect solution but the best one that I have seen; all the rest seem to involve a genocide.
In reality though I think this solution would not work because what this war is really about is simple racism on both sides. It seems that countries in that part of the world have lost control on their lunatics.
