They need Adam and Eve more than almost any other Christian sect. Without those two crazies, there is no "bet" between Jehovah and Satan over whether people will choose the right guy.

January 1 WT - Garden of Eden - Most inane article in a while
by eric356 inthe wt has really managed to outdo itself in regards to stupid, poorly researched articles attempting to defend ancient myths as literal history.
the latest effort is the cover article "the garden of eden - myth or fact?".
no moderately educated adult should have to ponder that question for long before answering "myth".

What Would Bring The Watchtower Down?
by metatron inrandy/dogpatch has posted some interesting material about troubles in the organization.
this info generated a lot of skepticism about the possibility of watchtower fragmentation.
frankly, it is very easy to be skeptical considering everything that ordinary witnesses are willing to believe or put up with.. i think it would be useful to realistically consider what sort of event(s) would bring the watchtower down or cause its fragmentation?

While I am of the group that thinks they will not be brought down by some sudden event, I love the threads that speculate....
Like Metatron says, all organizations are successful because of their pyramid-like structure. One of the levels fails, the whole thing falls. Poor management in the business world means that the competition comes in and eats their lunch. In the religious world though, its a lot more difficult because the lower levels remain loyal for reasons other than money. Their lives are on the line for Gods sake! At least that is how they look at it.
All three levels in WT world are under stress. The GB can't seem to come up with any new ideas, so they just keep spouting "Be loyal or die" They need a Fred Franz, or a date...but their committee like structure does not allow for a Fred Franz. Another date is the most intriguing option for a doomsday cult. Energize the base, rake in the new members (and the cash) then hold on like nobodys business after the date fails. If they set a date thought then they really risk another 1925 like fiasco where more than half leave.
Middle management is of course another problem. Elders are old, burnt out, and just tired of giving up their lives for no return on investment. With no new blood in the pipeline, this level of the pyramid is stressed to the max.
The base is still the strongest, just because of sheer numbers. The mind controlled masses will stay in because of the carrot on the end of the stick. As Meta points out, the problem here is an uneducated, low-earning (thus tight fisted) base of publishers means that the literature will be cut back further. The Awake will go next, and tracts will be substituted for Watchtowers in the ministry. Eventually (20 years down the road) the public WT will finally meet its maker.

Nothing like basing your entire life on the "story" of two naked folks living in a beautiful garden who ate some bad fruit 6,035 years ago.....

I just thought of a cunning plan!
by wary infor all of us who dread the knock on saturday morning only to find the po and the so at your door with stupid grins, here to find out why you havnt been to the meeting for a year.. ask em in, when they get over all the fake niceties and get down to the business of trying to readjust you or kick you out, try this.. just tell them you where stumbled out of the truth.
stumbled by some responsible bros that you would never have dreamed would put you in this position.. stumbled out by the lying gb.. there is no come back.
you cant be kicked out for being stumbled.. boyakaashaa!

Stumbled out of da troof is a good way to fade if you can keep the details blurry. I wouldn't bring the GB into it though. GB=WT=Jehovah is the equation you have to remember when dealing with nosy elders.

Will there ever be another defection from the GB?
by stuckinamovement inray franz decided to leave bethel and the governing body because he could not continue to promote or support the lies and half truths that were being told.
do you think that it is possible that one of the new boys might actually grow a pair of balls and stand up for what is true and reject what is false?.
there are so many doctrines that time has annulled.

There will be at some point, it may be in one year, it may be in fifty years.
While they have insulated themselves from a defection fairly well, deep down somewhere inside these guys are human just like us. It all depends on your BS tolerance level. All of us have found a way out because that tolerance level was exceeded, and we said we just cannot take it any more.
Someday one of them will once again say "No more BS" and get out, no matter the cost.

So I just got called a narcissist
by sabastious inmy family knows that i post on this forum (they have a packet of print outs of topics i have started) and they know about my videos on youtube.. they have made a demand that i cease all internet communication with the apostate community and then they will have me back.. i have refused.. they say i am a narcissist because i am ignoring the feelings of my family because they are very hurt by the things i am doing on the internet and speaking out against the religion.. interesting since they had to search out my posts and videos to gather evidence of apostasy.. -sab.

Maybe you can tell them you will stop as soon as they stop going door to door.
They are telling people that they are in the wrong religion and they will soon die if they do not stop and join their religion.

If this ain't a prophecy, what is?
by wasblind in.
on page 97 in the reasoning book it states: " before the last members of the generation that was alive in 1914 will have passed off the scene, all the things foretold will occur, including the "great tribulation" in which the present wicked world will end.".
if you have a reasoning book pick it up!!!!!!

Great idea cantleave. Next time they come to the door ask them if they have the Reasoning book, tell them to open to page 97 and read the passage. Tell them they are false prophets and close the door. Awesome!

Anyone remember the stupidist of talks?
by letsslatejws ini remember a talk being devoted to use of the correct grammatical pronunciation of words.
in fact any elder or brother for that matter who didnt use the correct pronunciation was viewed as illiterate and dorky so the congregation snubbed them.... i remember the word machinations (of the devil) and the emphasis that it should be pronounced mack in nations.... another one was.
behove was meant to be pronounced 'behoooved'.

Probably not an example that fits your topic exactly, but I remember one public talk where the speaker rambled on and on about a horrific rape for about five minutes as part of his introduction. Of course the point was how bad the world was....
classy.

Its funny how they break their arms patting themselves on the back! As others have already pointed out, their assertions are either meaningless or outright lies.
Gotta keep reminding the R&F that they are all part of the greatest thing since sliced bread.
