i found out last night that thursday,just gone, a member of the gb came to rosehill congregation in bolton to tell them the gb will now be more active and a more prominent part of their lives, this is to build trust and make it so when they revel new direction in the future, people don't push against them and they follow them.
it's a long shot shot but what are the chances he will be at any other meeting in this district this sunday and how can i find out?.

Well isn't that special? Its not like these guys don't already control who they talk to, where they go twice a week, the kinds of jobs they have, how much education they get, what they can and cannot celebrate, oh and how freaky they are allowed to get in the bedroom.
sorry,couldn't think of a better title for this post,without it being long.. i was thinking this morning,if ex-jws, who were born into the group less likely to join another religion after leaving.
vs. the witnesses who belonged to a church before joining the religion.. from my own prespective,being raised a witness,i have no intention of joining any religion.
and it seems that born-ins are less likely to join a religion after leaving the cult.. in my own experience,i think it's religious burn-out to tell the truth.
Born in here, Watchtower does a great job of poisoning the well. Once you realize they are fake too, I had little desire to tie myself into another church.
If God is up there, he's gotta be laughing his ass off at all of the people running into buildings over and over to constantly tell him that he's "da man".

recently i was going through some of my old storage boxes and came across my 1988 copy of the watchtower issued book "revelation.
its grand climax at hand!".
as i flipped through its pages i was reminded how blinded i was in regards to rational thinking.

I remember going through the motions with the group. Everyone was lost like we were studying Greek for the first time. There was one guy in our group who simply had this look of disdain at the study, he left with his family a year before I fully woke up. I know now that he knew it was all bull---- as we were going through the motions.
So many zombies still stuck inside. I really hope they can find the courage to get out.

My own wake up call started with the last time we studied the book, probably around 2006-07. They sent out revisions that we were cutting out and pasting into the book.
Something really felt weird about that, revisionist history happening right in front of my nose.

Doesn't the WT claim that all content is vetted by at least three GB members before going to print?
Obviously, three copy editors with a high school education can't quite get the job done. Thus the continuous avalanche of flip flops, contradictions, and outright lies slip through the cracks and into print, year after year.
There is ZERO quality control at Watchtower headquarters. That is why if you are trying to get an active JW out of the cult, it is always best to use their own words without any outside information. That is what got me out.

No matter how much we may struggle after leaving the cult, I always say it takes a person of real courage to leave. The strong are out, the weak remain in shackles.
all my family members and friends (that include some elders) advised me to divorce my wife whose only joy was to pick up fight with me for everything i do, except my grand-mother who said: when you married her, you looked for only her good pointher regular pioneering despite having an opposing family.
for being good, you will ultimately reap something far better through her.

i know this has been talked about in the past but im new here..
There are so many things the JWs spout off about that they say are "good" or "right" when the reality is completely opposite.
Morality is one, as already exposed nicely by Cantleave. Add to that they really aren't any more moral than the rest of humanity. Plenty of sex outside of marriage, lots of alcohol abuse, and I'm sure they watch plenty of porn on the downlow. Drug use is probably lower, but then again they lie about how much the world uses drugs.
Lying is a biggie with JWs, starting from the top down. When you lie about being God's mouthpiece, you pretty much lose any high ground when it comes to morality.
