We are mostly Ex JWs here.
JWs do not believe Jesus is God. They believe he is a creation of God (Jehovah). Not many active JWs here but if one comes along they can give you their scriptural justification.

we both are 21 years old.
we both are 21 years old.
i am almost done with my study and working on to become one of an unbaptized publisher.
You're 21 years old...both of you. Stop and think for a minute about these silly rules, where you aren't allowed to sit in a coffee shop and hold hands with someone you love without worrying about being tattled on and questioned. Its rather insane, isn't it?
Stick around here, lots of good threads on the JW religion as a whole. You owe it to yourself to fully understand what you are getting involved in, it will literally be life changing on levels you don't realize right now.
i don't want anyone to take this the wrong way but i use to at least feel smart as a jw.
when i went to thursday night meetings, i at least felt like i was a student, that i was learning how to speak publicly, i could prepare my own comments, i could answer points that i learned from the weekly bible reading.
i even feel like an "idiot" studying for the meetings.
i have been reading john bechtel's blog.
someone provided a link recently and it is brilliant.
anyone that enjoys personal experiences including bethel tales will love this.
I haven't heard a peep out of JR Brown in a long time.
Maybe because he is a shitty spokesman
the wt’s teaching that humans will live forever on a paradise earth will necessitate that given that there will be no more death, then immortal humans will have to be relocated to other planets in order to prevent the earth from becoming overpopulated.. so how many habitable, earth-like planets are there?more and more habitable, earth-like planets would have to become available on a continuous, never-ending basis ad infinitum as mankind’s population grows given that there will be no more death.. the longevity/sustainability of life on these planets will be limited by the fact that the sun serving these planets will eventually die:https://shar.es/1cko6n.

so immortal humans will have to keep moving from planet to planet.
Well, God's magik skillz will prevent what you are talking about, just like he had skillz back in the day with Noah and his awesome ark.
The real question is whether people will have free will in da new earth. Because if they do, they will eventually get fucking tired of petting panda and koala bears. Which means they will start fukkin each other outside of marriage (assuming they still have dicks and vaginas, questionable based on WT doctrine) or they may start smokin weed, snorting coke, or just going ape shit crazy on each other because they are stuck in a so called paradise being ruled by WT dickhead elders. Anyway, paradise earth under JW rules and regulations is nothin' I want to endure...
the longer i am away from the cult, the more very childish and downright silly it seems in many many ways.. just another example of the childlike way they do not think things through is their obsession with "not bringing reproach on jehovah's name", that concept was used to stop jw's doing all sorts of stuff, a lot of it quite normal.. but the worst aspect of this concept is that they cover up the evil within their org any way they can.. yet they only have to look back on all the cover-ups of the past, by other religions, by politicians etc etc to see that an open acknowledgement and an open dealing with the situation at the time is far better.. cover-ups get exposed in the end, and leave you looking far worse than if dealt with honestly..
Reproach on Jah's name?
Like when "worldlies" find out the nice co-worker shuns their flesh and blood for years on end because they no long believe in their parents religion?
Like when JWs knock on the door on Xmas morning pushing a WT magazine into the face of the homeowner?
Like when JWs hide in at their desk while the rest of the workers sing happy birthday to a co-worker?
Like when JWs refuse to stand up during the national anthem because they think Jah will be sad?
Like when JW quietly cheer at terrorist attacks because it means the end is near?
Like when JWs walk into the coffee shop or McDonalds overdressed in Suits and ties on Saturday morning after participating an hour or so in a "life saving work", only to be stared at like weirdos because they look just like that, weirdos....
Reproach on Jahs name comes from JWs themselves, simply because the so called God they worship is a bumbling idiot.
howdy folks!.
has that title changed?
if so, what is it now called?
That's an interesting find! Printed right after the whole "apostasy" scare at HQ as well, so maybe it was to calm the troops down a bit and promote a bit of a supposed open door policy. For perspective, here is current light:

They don't want to be bothered with your stupid questions is the basic summary.
I do believe they rotate the "chairperson" each year on the GB, but can't recall where I read/heard that.
i wasn't sure how this would be handled since the elders haven't harassed me as much as a lot of others have gotten, plus we live a ways outside of the territory so i figured there was a shot they'd leave me alone since it's inconvenient.
guess not.
two elders showed up unannounced toward the end of their recruiting shift.
january 2016 watchtower (study edition).
be determined to “let your brotherly love continue”!.
this article was easy to read.
When we think about the hard work that our elders do for us
I'll go ahead and object to this premise. In the past, it may have been hard. Today, its just time consuming. As long as you are wiling to shove your family into the back seat and give a lot of your time to the cause of the WTS then you are elder material.
That's exactly why so many elders resign eventually, and the smart ones coming up in the ranks don't "reach out" for the silliness of being an elder. Its a title with the privilege of getting the scoop on all of the dirty laundry in the congo. Certainly nothing of great value deserving extra respect from the troops, and many are recognizing that and refusing to bow down and kissing the rings of the elders.
