Another sign of the end....the decreasing, errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, increasing number of anointed. Did they announce a "true anointed" number though?

Trotting Out Old Light and Making it New Again- 1975
by OnTheWayOut inwts is great at rebooting old doctrines and rewriting their own history.
they need the members to feel that armageddon is imminent, so i have a proposal for the gb members reading this forum.. .
when the end failed to come in 1975, wts offered their explanation that eve was created some time after adam, and that some time passed before she and adam sinned.

Will the Book Study ever be dropped from the weekly meetings?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe book study is one of the most useless meetings.
the same books have been studied 3 or 4 times.the meeting takes only an hour but takes up most of your evening.
and, it is one of the least attended meetings.. why haven't they combined the watchtower study with just question and answer and then follow with the book study with just question and answer?

So can we start a thread titled "Will the Shunning Ever Be Dropped by the GB?"

Holy Spirit gets fooled?
by In inwell, i honestly don't think holy spirit would be fooled, but man certainly can be.
and it looks mighty bad for holy spirit when a man claiming to have it makes a crappy decision.. just for the record, i am still in, thus the name.
i have noticed questions really upset the "friends".

Does the WTS smell the blood in the water?
by djmac1031 inim sure im not the only former jw here who is noticing the subtle, and not so subtle changes in wts policy, and their attempts to make life easier for their rank n file.. .
combining the book study meeting with the service meeting / ministry school meeting and giving their members a "night off" so to speak (although they are of course encouraged to use this night as an evening of "family & personal bible study") is surely a sign that they understand their current r&f members can only take so much more of the wts complete control over every waking hour of their lives.. .
they have also shortened the public talks, cut down on the length of assembly days...i remember the 8 or 9 day assemblies as a kid myself, and over the years they have gotten shorter...a week...4 days...now generally no longer than 3 days.. .

They want to get rid of the blood thing, just on their own timeline. Remember the annual blood part every year, where everyone signed their new card? Gone for years now...now many are carrying around 10 year old cards. The HLC is there to make sure you know you can take fractions...they don't want any huge dollar lawsuits, but they still want to say "We don't take blood" Its about money first, then if you get a little religion along with it, thats fine.

Here is a good one, right from JW media:
http://jw-media.org/aboutjw/article32.htm#saved
Do you believe that you are the only ones who will be saved?
No. Many millions who have lived in centuries past and who were not Jehovah’s Witnesses will come back in a resurrection and have an opportunity for life. Many now living may yet take a stand for truth and righteousness before God’s time of judgment, and they will gain salvation. Moreover, Jesus said that we should not be judging one another. Humans look at the outward appearance; God looks at the heart. He sees accurately and judges mercifully. God has committed judgment into Jesus’ hands, not ours.—Matthew 7:1-5; John 5:22, 27.
Love how they reference Jesus saying "we should not be judging one another" What a whopper....

I look at is trying to mainstream without mainstreaming. Like LWT said, shunning is what really makes them look bad. But they have practiced it now for more than 50 years. Same with the blood issue, though that is on its last legs with the illogical fraction mess they created.
They are trying to make it look like an easier religion to live by throwing a few bread crumbs to the R&F. If it were like the old days with one guy in charge, I'm sure drastic changes would have already hit. But with this GB arrangement, 2/3 voting to make something change its just like molasses.
But as many have already stated, in the end its just a re-arranging of the chairs on the Titanic.
