i want to spare you a long post about my background.
because this topic is about something else.a small information is that i knew ttatt before i got married.
but then i somehow pushed it back for quite some time because i didnt want to change my life and it was convenient to instantly meet new people when you move into a new city.couple of years into my marriage and seeing all the changes in the jw my thirst for ttatt resurfaced.
So we talked. She said that she remains faithful to me to this date and that she was only messaging other guys just to talk, because for a reason she couldn't talk to me. Unbeknownst to me, my wife got convinced about TTATT but for a reason couldn't talk to me about that. At least that's what she said.

i asked a couple of them farther up the street by north station if they had ever seen beth sarim - and that they should look it up...for some interesting facts about their history.. .

i just recalled something from my past that i've not thought about in a very long time, but it did have a significant impact on me whether i knew it or not at the time....... i have a sister who was born when i was 15. my family are not jw's thank the universe!
but me as an uberdub at the time convinced my young sister to have a study.
she was about 14 or 15 at the time i'd guess.

Is it a passive aggressive way to get back at you for not going?
I saw that sort of nonsense and felt the same way as you with my ex. It sounds like a way of sucking you down to her level, I fell for that for a while. Eventually I made the decision that I would be happy on my own, no matter how she felt. It short circuited the cycle when I simply went and did my own thing and was happy about it no matter her childish and petty mood swings surrounding the cult.

it has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?
the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.
the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.
i would like to get the opinion of those on this community.
does serving as an elder make one a bad family man.
with all the demands placed on those serving... how can one make time for family life?
I didn't like the person I was becoming when I was made an elder. The pressure of it all, the lack of time for myself and my family. I think if an elder makes it past the first few years, they and the family just start to accept it as "the way it is" and deal with it however they have to, meaning there could be a lot of double life stuff going on.
I was out within two years of being made an elder, it literally woke me the fuck up.

For me, it was end times prophecy. I was basically told in 1990 by my study conductor that there was basically no way the world would last more than 10 more years, based on "this generation" teaching at the time. Made a lot of bad decisions at that time based on that.
