this is kinda scary, for those who believe in the bible, first jesus said that he wasn't abolishing just fulfilling the law.
the penalty of sin is death, so he covers that.
many take that as most things are okay then.
I find it interesting that the supposed word of God is so convoluted that even its believers cannot figure out how to follow its teachings.
zoiks inspired this thread when he mentioned this book elsewhere.. i have read other threads on this forum about it, but i always enjoy the fresh insight on here.. commentary on the letter of james was always my favorite book from wtbs, partly because i love the book of james, but also because it was one of the books that dealt with more practical christian living than constant wt doctrine.. i mentioned to a number of people that i loved that book, and got a few comments of "well, you know that book was written by an apostate.".
it didnt take me long to do a little math - that book came out i believe in 1979/1980, right around the time of the great purge.
how could someone write such an excellent book and then be branded an apostate just a few months later???.
One Gilead graduate told me the same thing when I said that I am studying that book. I can't believe that that book is still on the WT-Library CD.
Has it been altered from it's original printing?
by looking at every occasion that jesus used the expression "this generation", it is possible to work out what he meant.. i have listed these occasions, along with some questions, at:.

i am interested to know what you think.. doug.
Silly rabbits, it evidently means whatever the watchtower says it means.
hey there everyone, so this is a jw parody in the vein of the hitler flipping out about things that's all the rage on youtube.
i think it's really clever and alot of the youtube apostates are already thinking it's one of the better parodies on youtube.
check it out though, i'm sure everyone will laugh.
MILLIONS now living will NEVER die! My #SS!
too funny!
has anyone here ever researched or thought about dna memory?
there's a lot of weird, esoteric stuff out there concerning this, like you can somehow access your ancestors' memories.
that's not really what i'm talking about - to me, that sounds a little too fanciful.dna is a relatively recent discovery and obviously, there's still a lot to learn.
Top 100 Stories of 2009 #61: Child Abuse Leaves Its Mark on Victim’s DNA

The brains of people who were abused as children and then commit suicide show DNA modifications that made them particularly sensitive to stress.
Childhood trauma may leave a lasting imprint not just on the psyche but also in the DNA. This news comes from McGill University and the Suicide Brain Bank, a Quebec-based organization that carried out autopsies on suicide victims who had been abused as kids. Across the board, their brains showed DNA modifications that made them particularly sensitive to stress. Although gene variations are primarily inherited at conception, the findings show that environmental impacts can also introduce them later on. “The idea that abuse changes how genes function opens a new window for behavioral and drug therapy,” says study leader and neuroscientist Patrick McGowan.
During periods of adversity, the brain triggers release of cortisol, a hormone responsible for the fight-or-flight response. Due to differential gene expression associated with stress, the brains of child-abuse victims had lower levels of glucocorticoid receptors, McGowan found. Cortisol normally binds to these receptors; with fewer of them present, there is more cortisol and less resilience to feelings of stress.
In his study, McGowan reviewed medical records and police reports and interviewed family members to determine whether a subject was abused early in life. He then examined the subjects’ brain tissues and found that among those who had been abused, glucocorticoid-receptor expression was reduced by 40 percent. “If we can identify how these changes occur, we can identify those at high risk and ultimately find ways to treat them,” McGowan says.

can't think of her name right now (she's a comedienne), but i think i have had about enough with the progressive insurance ads.
they seem to be everywhere, all the time.. i guess there is a ton of money to be made when every other commercial on tv seems to be an insurance company hawking its products (progressive, geico, etc, etc, etc).. rub a dub.
No one beats this guy

i have come upon a situation in which i am a bit confused.
if someone drops a phone book on your front porch.
has the previous owner transferred ownership to you?.
I generally check for a rash.
