  the title is a bit of click bait.

  but here's the alternative title: what stupid beliefs/ideas did you have while an active jw.. i think the majority of jws that don't have obvious mental health issues are not stupid, just un/under-educated.

  for example, i now accept evolution as a thing, not a controversy or conjecture.

  Telling lies is complicated, but the truth is simple. The world has numerous books on evolution, and they are anything but simple. Thus, we know evolution is a lie

  This is an idea that WT promotes that anything that is the "real truth" will be simple and easy to understand. It will have the "ring of truth" as they say. In reality, the universe and life are complicated with many factors to consider. Most people are too lazy to look at everything and make their own decisions. WT offers a shortcut by appealing to the bible as an authority. Then as people "study the bible" with JWs the authority is passed along to the WT organization and ultimately the GB.

  Watched The Bunker Videos Again On JWSurvey

  i watched the bunker videos again and noticed something strange.

  even though none of the characters had actually been disloyal to the org when commended for their loyalty they all say "it wasn't always that way".

  it was always that way, none of them had actually sinned!

Even though none of the characters had actually been disloyal to the org when commended for their loyalty they all say "It wasn't always that way". It was always that way, none of them had actually sinned! The point being even if you haven't really done anything to be disloyal you still need to do more and think more like a WT drone. Stop thinking you're own thoughts and start quoting WT articles.

  Does GB 2.0 Have The Guts To Publish A Book On Revelation?

  so we all know that the old revelation book is "old light" and the gb would like to sweep it under the rug.

  however, since they have been reinterpreting many of the parables from the gospels, many jws are confused as to how it all fits in with the book of revelation.

  plus, they have been emphasizing the nearness of the end and the gt.

  It would also bring up the whole "the UN is the scarlet colored wild beast" that they have been trying hard to not mention lately. I think they would like to do it but it would take someone with creativity that they just don't have right now. Plus if they just throw out everything and start fresh that will look very bad as the Revelation book was the authority on end time prophecies for JWs. What they could do is take different prophecies from all over the bible and put them in one book, that would allow them to cherry pick the ones they want to emphasize and ignore the ones that never really made any sense.

However, since they have been reinterpreting many of the parables from the gospels, many JWs are confused as to how it all fits in with the book of Revelation. Plus, they have been emphasizing the nearness of the end and the GT. So my question is, who here thinks they will try to publish an updated interpretation of the prophecy of Revelation? On the one hand it could really motivate the hardcore JWs but for this GB I think it would be very hard to pull off.

  Environmentalists? Not Necessarily, Helping Nonetheless....

  whether the average jw appreciates it or not (i certainly do not), the wtbts sure is helping in the environmentalists' movement of creating as much a paperless society as possible in order to preserve trees and create other favorable situations for humanity, such as avoiding so much trash and chemical waste involved in the printing/shipping process.. in order to help me adjust to this new phase within the org, i've reasoned it all this way.

  anybody else recognizes that this going all out electronic/computerized is, of course, first a most profitable effort, but also has a secondary benefit of helping out to preserve the environment.......?!.

  bringing together all of the stories they told thus far and placing them int he "new world" complete with the little boy who was killed in a car accident coming back from the dead.. i have a good friend who is stuck in with family and plays the role.

  he said everyone was crying, and the people next to him rated the videos by how many tissues they needed to dry their eyes.

  sorry i thought it was a new morning worship video but it is 6 months old and has already been discussed on here..  it is presented by gb helper k flodin and about this generation.

  the delusion and hypocrisy runs deep.. he reminds the cult members not to speculate because they aren't supposed to know the day or the hour.

  The amazing thing is how blatant all of this talk about the future is really about the present. It's a formalized fantasy that distracts from ordinary life. It's all about the experience. That the future they dream about never actually comes to be is besides the point. We got through today by dreaming about tomorrow. Mission accomplished.

  Exactly, the bunker videos aren't really about the GT at all it's just another way to delude people into sacrificing a little more of their lives for the WT. Fear and false hope are just two sides of the same message. The "real life" is always just a little out of reach for JWs.

  RC Was Worse Than I thought...

  i was visiting with my family and it seems the rc was worse than i thought.

  now they all seem to think that "we are so close to the end" and that the "brothers are really preparing us for the gt".

  some even saying that soon our message will change to a judgement message for mankind and talking about how we need to improve "everything we do".

  the GT is their trump card,; once they announce its beginning, they've crossed the Rubicon there's no turning back... they will expend whatever's left of their credibility on that one call,,, and what do they do for an encore? .

  i don't have access to my old email, so i'm using a new account.. anyway, i was baptized jw in late 90's.

  da'd mid 2000s.. when i left there were three meets a week plus field service.

  I don't think it was mentioned yet but they did a WT on types and anti-types explaining why most of the time it doesn't make sense to give anti-typical meanings to bible characters and parables. Then they continued to use anti-types to explain: 1914, 1919, Faithful and Discreet Slave, Generation Teaching etc. WTF?

  Former belief - field service is a publishers inalienable right
  New belief - field service privilege can be taken away if person styles hair or wears clothing in a way that is deemed metrosexual.
  I was pretty much dumbfounded.

  Actually anybody could go out and say they are a witness even an apostate. JWs really would have no way of knowing and could do very little about it. Sure if you wanted to go with the group they could probably exclude you but you don't really need a group.
