The Truth is not an ORG.....It's inside of you
by tor1500 inthe truth, the org is the truth...ummm...let's think about that...i was thinking that the bible is the truth & what it does is that it reveals the truth about you...the more you read the bible the more you may see yourself & your actions.
you may be a person who judges people, the bible will show you what's wrong with that...viola, another truth revealed about you.
you may be a prideful person, you read a story in the bible about that...again, it's another truth revealed about you.

All the new songs are absolutely terrible, they have no melody. The lyrics don't flow naturally with the composition. -

LOL, a few years ago this would have been unbelievable but now they are really pushing for the cash. Make no mistake this is not about kid's ice cream money. It's about making the parents feel guilty when their child goes to donate $0.25. This is a subtle guilt trip for parents, if your kids want to give, why don't you? You should set the example for your little JWs. -

Gross! Grooming of young brothers in the KH to do more for Jehobadahhh and his organ-nigh-say-shun! I saw it myself.
by macys inso there is this young brother probably 14 or 15 and the elders are already grooming him to do more for jehobadahhh.
most of the elders in this kh are old like 60+ and sometimes there are not enough brothers to do the mics or sound so you will see a 70 year old elder forced into action.
almost comical to see a brother who thinks instagram is an email service try to operate the sound system and projector as he plays the wrong song or brings the screen down during a prayer.

I totally agree with Sparky's comment, back in the day this was common procedure. I remember being a teenager and being an attendant at the district convention. Not just me but a lot of young brothers were used like that. As soon as I was baptized I was on the schedule to do the mics. That may seem like a small thing but when you're a kid it really does feel like a responsibility. Each young brother would be put into a natural progression that would lead to being an MS and eventually an Elder. Only those who showed a bad attitude or didn't handle their responsibilities would not be given more to do. It was like you had to reach out, you weren't really given a choice. -

Did any of us ever enjoy meetings?
by stephanie61092 inthis is a legitimate question.
did any of us ever find real joy in being at the meetings?
did any of us ever finish a meeting and think "i feel so enriched"?

Well, as a born in JW I can say that I did enjoy them as a kid and a teen. Mostly because I got to answer and look smart (even answered in my own words) and because all my friends were there. Also, the only girls I knew where there as well since i was home schooled. So really my whole life revolved around people I knew from the hall. Most of the talks though I found boring and didn't really enjoy studying for the WT. Every once in awhile there would be an entertaining or well given talk -

Is the WT’s Paradise Earth doctrine a delusion?
by deegee inthe wt’s teaching that humans will live forever on a paradise earth will necessitate that given that there will be no more death, then immortal humans will have to be relocated to other planets in order to prevent the earth from becoming overpopulated.. so how many habitable, earth-like planets are there?more and more habitable, earth-like planets would have to become available on a continuous, never-ending basis ad infinitum as mankind’s population grows given that there will be no more death.. the longevity/sustainability of life on these planets will be limited by the fact that the sun serving these planets will eventually die:https://shar.es/1cko6n.

so immortal humans will have to keep moving from planet to planet.

How many times is Paradise actually mentioned in the bible anyway? It's been shown that the book of revelation could be talking figuratively about a heavenly hope. The other scriptures JWs quote the most are from the book of Psalms. It could easily be argued that those refer to the nation of Israel, not to us thousands of years later. Then really this whole teaching relies on one scripture in the gospels where Jesus tells the criminal being executed "You will be with me in Paradise". If this is the hope of most of mankind then why is it not mentioned else where in the NT? -

How did you feel when they eliminated the Con. Book Study?
by Freeandclear inyears ago when i was "in" i loved the book study.
it was my favorite meeting by far.
mainly because it was a small group.

I was super shocked that they would eliminate a meeting but was quite happy about it. Getting dressed and driving to a meeting just for one hour seemed like such a chore. Never understood why it couldn't be more casual, we were in someone's house wearing a full suit and tie. It was funny to me that people who would never have missed the book study were now praising the "new arrangement". In reality they never liked the book study at all! -

Like Father, Like Son
by cofty inwhen faced with awkward questions about the morality of god many christians respond by distancing themselves from the old testament and focusing on "gentle jesus meek and mild" of the new testament.. for bible-believing christians this is intellectually dishonest.. according to christian dogma jesus was the god of abraham isaac and jacob.
the logos, the alpha and omega who is "the same yesterday, today, and forever.".
he claimed that "he that has seen me has seen the father" and that "i and the father are one".. in short, christians assert that jesus is almighty god from all eternity.. it therefore follows that jesus was the god who ordered the nation of israel to take slaves as inheritable possessions.

If there was a God, should the circumstances have been kinda like the JW's Paradise? Is that what I'm getting here?
No, you're missing the point altogether. Jesus as a reflection of the father is dishonest because Jehovah didn't act in same manner as Jesus did when on earth (according to the gospels). Jesus was in effect a revisionist explanation for the God of the old testament. The reason for this is that ancient Israel was a product of the times they lived in.Their God was a reflection of those times. Mankind created God, not the over way around.

I don't think they are going anywhere for awhile, numbers may decrease but they will still be around. They may stop the printing presses but they will still be publishing to JW.org. Think about this they have survived false predictions about 1914, 1925, 1975, and the generation that will not pass away. Still the followers are there they are trapped.
