This needs like eight million likes because it is so true! And the org uses your family and friends to reinforce the guilt on you when you stray into just the slightest amount freedom and normalcy. They know nobody wants to tell their family to eff off, so they play that card against you.

The Great Watchtower Guilt Trip
by pale.emperor inas im sure almost all of us on here are ex-jw, we all know first hand how well the watchtower used the power of guilt to manipulate our thoughts and actions for the entire time we were active witnesses.
guilty for not going on the ministry enough.. guilty for not trying harder while on the ministry.. guilty for not turning up for hall cleaning that time.. guilty for saying a swearword.. guilty for looking at a porno mag.. guilty for masturbating through my teens (i thought i was the only one who did!).
guilty for thinking the gb is wrong on a certain thing.. guilty for touching my girlfriend there... even though we've been dating for 3 freakin years and not had sex (thats not natural imo).. guilty for not following along in the watchtower magazine on sunday.. guilty for not studying.. guilty for nodding off during the 8 hour convention.. guilty for my mind wandering during the talks.. guilty for thinking of sister so-and-so.. the list goes on.

The Noblest Hope?
by JW_Rogue infrom this week's wt study:.
all of us, whether of the anointed or of the “other sheep,” hope to see the fulfillment of god’s original purpose and the sanctification of jehovah’s name.

" Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe that Jehovah will execute billions of persons, but only those whom Jehovah deems non-reformable and incorrigibly wicked. Who are these ones? We cannot say, nor can we judge our fellow man."
DD They could never say that because it would totally contradict their disfellowhipping procedures. I don't think they'll be giving up on those anytime soon. It is the only thing keeping many in the org. The above sentiment would also encourage many to fade from meetings and FS.

From this week's WT study:
All of us, whether of the anointed or of the “other sheep,” hope to see the fulfillment of God’s original purpose and the sanctification of Jehovah’s name. (John 10:16; Matt. 6:9, 10) Such expectations are the most noble any human can cherish.
Hoping for the death of billions of non-believers, some of which may even be blood relatives is "noble"? All while anxiously awaiting your own reward of perfect unending life? Believing you deserve it because of all the time you put in preaching to the blinded non-believers? Doesn't sound noble at all sounds like a selfish person with delusions of grandeur.

The con is completed - comments from the US branch's LDC chief
by sir82 inrecently attended a special assembly day.. guest speaker was thomas chicky, a member of the us branch committee and the head of the us ldc (which has replaced the rbcs).. the last talk of the day is scheduled for an hour.
it was the usual boring mumbo-jumbo.
he appeared to have blasted through his hour-long outline in just about 45 minutes, so he "treated" us to informal comments on recent developments.. he commented on the new wt complex in fishkill ny.. then he dropped the bomb (well, to anyone with ears and at least 2 functioning synapses).. the following is not a word for quote, but presents the gist of his comments:.

LOL JWs will pretend that they never said their was a huge need for Kingdom Halls in the US, the narrative will be rewritten through repetition. The resolution for the KH building will just become a resolution for the "world wide work", in perpetuity.

JW Policy Regarding "Marking" From The Nov 2016 WT
by JW_Rogue injws will deny that local needs parts are often just a way to mark those in the congregation who are deemed to be "bad association" or who don't fall in line with the elders viewpoints.
now, for the first time in a long time the wt discusses their marking policy and how it works in the nov study wt:.
recall paul’s counsel regarding disorderly ones in the congregation.

JWs will deny that local needs parts are often just a way to mark those in the congregation who are deemed to be "bad association" or who don't fall in line with the Elders viewpoints. Now, for the first time in a long time the WT discusses their marking policy and how it works in the Nov study WT:
Recall Paul’s counsel regarding disorderly ones in the congregation. Some individuals were ‘not working at all but were meddling with what did not concern them.’ They were evidently admonished by the elders but persisted in disregarding the counsel. How was the congregation to deal with such a person? Paul directed: “Keep this one marked and stop associating with him.” That counsel was balanced with the caution not to treat such a person as an enemy. (2 Thess. 3:11-15) Today, elders may give a warning talk about someone’s persisting in a course that reflects badly on the congregation, such as dating an unbeliever. (1 Cor. 7:39) How do you react when the elders find it necessary to give such a talk? If you are aware of the situation described in the talk, will you take care to avoid socializing with such an individual? Your loving concern and firm stand may move the person to abandon a disorderly course. [1]

Steps to being an Elder:
- Go out in service every Saturday morning, work with some Elders let them give you WT advice
- Comment at the meetings (helps if it is something that looks like you did extra research)
- Volunteer for things no one else wants to do (assembly clean up, magazine counter, picking up literature, accounts)
- Buddy up to the circuit overseer

Suspicious Attitude Toward Married Brothers...
by JW_Rogue inthis is kind of different but i just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.
it seems that younger married brothers are viewed with a certain level of suspicion in the congregation.
it's like the elders can be friendly with everyone in the hall including younger sisters.

Why limit it to married and not single brothers? Why only brothers? I've seen this flirt accusation thrown around to people of all sorts.
Nobody actually accuses you, they just give you bad looks and talk behind your back

It's like the Elders can be friendly with everyone in the hall including younger sisters. Young single brothers can also talk to everyone as they are single. However, if a youngish married brother talks with a single sister even in passing he is viewed as though he is a flirt or a "player". Kind of ridiculous that you have to specifically avoid talking to certain people at the hall but that is how it is.

Did anyone else go to this weeks midweek meeting?
by NikL inin the congregation bible study, the book addressed how "truth" is progressive.... 18 just as jehovah progressively revealed truths about the kingdom in the period leading up to 1914, he continues to do so during the time of the end.
as chapters 4 and 5 of this book will show, over the past 100 years, god’s people have had to adjust their understanding on a number of occasions.
does that fact mean that they do not have jehovah’s backing?

“It seems to be a safe rule to follow, that prophecy can not be understood by us until it is fulfilled or in the course of fulfillment.” Now that we are deep into the time of the end, many Kingdom prophecies have been and are being fulfilled. Because God’s people are humble and willing to be corrected, Jehovah has allowed our understanding of his purpose to become more complete. True knowledge has become abundant!
I guess I wasted 5 years of my life studying "The Revelation" book and "Daniel's Prophecy", thanks for admitting it was all BS.
