Why Can JWs Eat Turkey On Thanksgiving & Still Say They Aren't Celebrating?
by minimus ini don't get it.. the idea is that it's ok to eat food on any day as everyday is a day of thanksgiving.
it was the only holiday that i knew witnesses to celebrate.. .

Like sooner, I was a 4th generation, great grandmother was at one of the conventions at Cedar Point, way back when. I left when I was 25 in 1990, DA'd. I basically got sick with the second class status of women. I basically feel that almost anything men can do... I didn't really start doing my research until 3 years ago. Since then I have learned so much. I used to have occasional conversations with my parents, but since the mental sickness article and me getting tired of the guilt trips my mother still tries on me, I say forget it. If she needs me, she knows my phone number.

OWWWWIE!!!! Plantar's wart.....
by palmtree67 inkk, i've had a small plantar's wart on the bottom of my big toe for a looooooong time.. recently, it started getting bigger and more painful.
i googled, and found a home remedy consisting of placing apple cider vinegar soaked cotton balls on the wart and covering it in duct tape.. can i just say......this f**cking hurts!!!!!.
it's been almost a week, and it's turned black which means (i think.....i hope) that it's working.. extremely painful.....can barely walk....it throbs constantly....i have to get up in the night and deal with it.. anyone?.

I had one on the bottom of my foot and it took several doctor's treatment to get rid of it. The doctor was opposed to cutting it out. Yes it was painful. Excellent Ferris reference. Have you seen Matthew Broderick's Honda CR-V commercial?
Broderick?

Why Facebook is The Watchtowers Biggest Enemy
by LostGeneration ini just read through the zuckerberg letter to potential investors about the upcoming ipo.
whether you love or hate fb, its interesting to consider how much of a problem it is for the wt.
here are a couple of paragraphs from the letter that i really liked: full letter is here.

Hmm, VCRs in the eighties. Yep, I rented R rated movies like Risky Business and Breakfast Club.
Facebook has been great to me. I have reconnected with my cousins who are all DF, once in a while contact a cousin who is still in, for how long I don't know, but I will be there if needed. I have one high school friend who is still in and a couple of other friends/family who are out.
I guess you can say I am a cyberstalker sometimes on there, I check on others. But hey, if they didn't want people to know stuff they would keep their account private and I couldn't see anything.
I feel so much more connected since I found some family who will have something to do with me and I have Facebook to thank for it. That is why I feel Facebook is the WT biggest enemy. DF people are no longer out in the cold all alone. We can reconnect with each other and support each other.

Yesterday was my oldest 19th B-day. He has always had birthday wishes and presents and parties. My son went to see his grandmothers on Saturday. One because she wanted to see him for his birthday and my mother, just to see her. She didn't remember it was his birthday. I wonder if she remembers mine. My first B-day party was the one I threw for myself when I turned 25.
I wish you all the best on your birthday and many more!
