  i just spent about 45 minutes talking to this nice guy jw that became a jw about 10 years ago at the age 40. had a very interesting talk about wt history/ present truth.

  the best part was what the wts lied to him about.

  i get the feeling he will look up some of the stuff.

  @Searchn4answrs.. You hit it on the head for me with that definition of Groupthink. I have been spending some time at my sisters and dad's house. It is unbeliveable to me how they think. My sister is in her early 30's but acts about 15. Everything is done based upon what others in the hall will think. No one can seem to make a choice on their own will.

  I'm on steroids too :(

  many of you know that i had bilateral vocal cord paralysis.

  the cords were in the closed position and required tracheostomy.

  i had the trach for about 5 months.

  I feel for you Ms McDucket, I have severe asthma. As I write this, I am thinking I will be back in the hospital as I cant seem to get my breathing under control. I take predinsone daily and and couple inhaled steriods. Yes the moonpie face does go away, but I don't complain because I can breathe..lol. The steriod Solumedrol is great at opening you up, it just raises your blood sugars. I wish you the best.

  Jehovah's Witness crimes - Interactive Map/Database

  hello friends, rifter here from jwr.. i'm starting a new project using google maps to plot locations, news articles and other sources regarding high-profile crimes committed by jehovah's witnesses, and other related reports.

  the project will be ongoing, and much of the data so far is based on articles posted in the in the news section of jwr.

  i will soon be adding data from additional sources whenever possible.

  Do JW's read other books?

  when i ask my jw friend if she has read various classic books, she says, "i don't like to read.

  " however, she of course reads all the wt stuff.

  i don't know too many jw's, but the ones i have seen in the meetings seem mostly uneducated and, even when speaking from the platform, seem almost illiterate - that is, unable to pronounce certain words even in the wt literature.

  I am an avid reader. I find that most of the JW's I know do not like to read. My sister just asked me this the other day. She says she cant understand why I like to read. My mother frowned on my reading as a teenager. Its the strangest thing too, my friends that are fading or have faded are also avid readers also.

  Wedding Officiation

  i have a question.

  as i was reading the "shepherd the flock" book 12:8 (boy do i think that's stupid) i saw that an elder has to make sure he can officate at a wedding.. who determines whether he is qualified to do that?

  they aren't recognized by any other authority to be ministers.. .
