  i was reading the incredibly fascinating posts on the "something i heard from our lord" topic, and noticed something that piqued my curiousity.

  the jws always say that eve wasn't really guilty of wrongdoing, but rather adam.

  after eating from the tree, adam became like god, knowing good and evil.

  Hi everyone,

  I was reading the incredibly fascinating posts on the "Something I heard from our Lord" topic, and noticed something that piqued my curiousity. The JWs always say that Eve wasn't really guilty of wrongdoing, but rather Adam. And Adam was guilty because he had been told by God, and he knew eating from the tree was wrong. It makes sense (if you believe in the Bible, that is), because Adam should have known better. God warned him of what was wrong, and yet Adam still chose to do it.

  But wait...

  Genesis 3:

  22 Then the L ORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”

  After eating from the tree, Adam became like God, knowing good and evil. So, he didn't know good and evil before he ate from the tree??? How could God expect Adam to make the right choice, when Adam didn't even know good from evil? God said bad things, evil things would happen if he ate. But Adam didn't understand bad, evil.

  Adding to that, the JWs preach that in the New System tm we will be returned to a state like that of Adam. So we won't know evil? How can we make a choice, when we don't know what the choices are?? Isn't that a little like a robot?

  On another note....Isn't iRobot a great movie?

  Circumcision banned in Germany - it's about time.

  jewish and muslim groups in germany have condemned a court ruling that deemed circumcision to be equivalent to grievous bodily harm.. the court, in cologne, declared this week that the procedure violated a child's ''fundamental right to bodily integrity''.

  religious groups said the ruling trampled on freedom of belief and could lead to ''circumcision tourism''.. the ruling said: ''the body of the child is irreparably and permanently changed by a circumcision.

  Farkel, well said.

  Anyone ever hear of phimosis? Well, I had it. And at age 22 I had to get the ol' prepuce wacked off because of it. Sex was incredibly painful, as in, indescribably painful to the point I couldn't have sex. And if you've ever had surgery and thought it hurt, try again. There is nothing as painful as having a doctor scrape off a piece of skin that has fused to one of the most sensitive areas of the human body. I was out of work for two weeks. It took another 2 months to even think about sex.

  Circumcision is not abuse. It is a kindness. I wish to (God?) that my parents had decided to circumcise me. To those who slam circumcision: it is my opinion that you are incredibly uneducated on the subject. Just sayin.

  Absolutely, 100%, without a doubt, the borg is guilty.

  Someone mentioned earlier that a proper response to this would be to have the person listen in on the phone. That is what should happen.

  I work in a Dr's clinic, and we regularly have patients come in that are sex offenders. When they get to the front desk, the first thing they tell me is: "Do you have a separate room I can wait in? I am a registered sex offender, and I am not allowed to be around children."

  Had the elders reported this properly to the authorities, this person would have been registered and prohibited from even coming to the meetings due to the unnavoidability of being around children. This problem could have been avoided so easily. Idiots. They ruin a childs life and don't even care.

  And then they label them apostates for suing!

  this was sent to me as a comment for free minds.

  the author says, i'm not sure if you are aware of this fact or not: if you look at the awake!

  may 2009 pg 11 , it says that jerusalem siege was in 607, according to professor michael jursa working in the british museum, but curiously if you go to the british museum official webpage, (in "search" put michael jursa) you ll see that it says the siege of jerusalen was in 587 bc !!.

  Statements like this have always irritated me. It says 100 years in advance, Israel predicted something. How do we know it was 100 years in advance? Archae-frickin-ology! The ONLY way to confirm the Bible's accuracy in prophecy is through Archaeology.

  An Explanation of why TIME TRAVEL does not work

  energy and matter are neither created nor destroyed.. consequently, the building blocks of existence are actually finite parts.. to create things in "tomorrow" which are new, something has to be dismantled to leave spare parts for tomorrow's new thing.. the old thing deteriorates, (dies/disintegrates) and the parts become available to make the new thing.. time travel requires going to a place where today's parts are available to be rearranged.. some of today's things persist as they are, of course.

  they only travel through time by persisting as they are.

  (mountains, for example.).

  How about a paradox. How do you know that the matter that is here in the present is not really matter from the future? Let's say we have a car from the future appear in the present. Your reasoning would mean that that car is an addition to the matter/energy quantity in the universe, and therefore cannot exist because you can't create or destroy matter/energy. How de we know that that car was not supposed to appear in the present, and is not accounted for in the matter/energy quantity of the present universe? :)

  you should not have to choose between your religion and family ! (awake mag quote)

  last summer there was a big upset caused by an article (july ,ithink) in the awake about a hindu lady that upset her family by leaving her religion and joining jehovahs witnesses and the ironic thing was it had the above quote in it , that someone should not have to choose between family and religion !

  i printed the article off and underlined that section , and recently sent it to my inlaws along with a letter , because they are upset about not seeing their grandchild because they banned their son from the house (he sdisfellowshipped) i am trying to sort the situation out , and i thought they might notice the hypocrisy in the article , however that idea did not work as apparently" there are lies on the internet !

  " and father in law was not very happy to receive it , but it is from an awake magazine ,watchtower literature !
